I didnt start until after 6 months.
And I hardly ever did cereal. We did do oatmeal and Barley.
And we started with Avacodo, Bananas, Sweet Potatoes, Apples.

We followed this a lot from Wholesome Baby Food.

Harper will be 6 months July 9th and I have just now tried a few things here and there to see if it will help with her reflux but I am still holding out a little while longer b/c it isn't helping keep the spit up down. I did some cereal, cereal with apples, and we have tried sweet potatoes. I believe with my first I did veggies first then fruits.

DD started rice cereal at a little pver a month but only because she was literally eating an 8oz bottle every hour. you don't usually start until at LEAST 4 months and still give formula/breastmilk until at least a year.

You are supposed to start with veggies. Introduce foods one at a time, waiting at least three days between foods to watch for reactions.

Our pedi told us it was ok to start when he was 4 months & he ate rice cereal once a day. We'd introduce baby food when appropriate & he acted like I was poisoning him. He loves rice cereal though! He's almost 6 months & is still mostly bf or ff for the few hours I'm at work, but he does have applesauce sometimes & is warming up to it. I gave him green beans yesterday & he acted like it was gross, but wanted to eat it. I wish he didn't like rice cereal! It's so messy & sticky! Both of us need a shower/bath after!
