Sounds like your mom just doesn't want to deal with the reality of what your brother is doing. Maybe because of her declined mental state she is choosing to ignore the bad so she can only enjoy the good from him, even though it doesn't sound like he has much. Unfortunately this isn't a good way to see it. I would leave whenever you get the chance. It isn't fair for you to raise a family in that kind of environment and have him rubbing off on your children.
