Sippy cups/horrible sucking reflux...

My son is almost 2.5yrs old. He has always had a poor sucking reflux so I've had to ALWAYS make bottle nipples and sippy cup valves bigger holes for him. Has anyone else had to do this for their LO? I buy him these cups, but have to take a knife and make the hole bigger on the spill proof valve....http://www.playtexbaby.com/CupsMealtime/Insulator-Cup

Have you tried the straw sippies? I never used the regular sippies, always the straw ones.

We used straw ones for the longest time until he began biting the straws off and ingesting them. It was super scary cause he kept choking on the silicone so we had no choice but to switch to hard spout cups which he's doing great with, as long as I make the valve more cut. Lol

Have you maybe tried switching him to cups? Some LOs are able to switch to them really early on without any issues.

Do they hve a hard plastic valve?
Hve you tried the soft latex valves? They're the only ones my daughter will suck. I think hers is nuby brand?
