My eight month old baby boy was admitted to hospital around a week ago for pneumonia, I took him straight to the hospital as soon as I checked his temperature and found it to be 39 degrees (celcius) Anyways, he was in hospital overnight and they sent us home with antibiotics and withina day or two he was back to his normal self, happy and crawling around like mad. I took him to the shopping centre, and as I took him out of the car I noticed a rash covering his whole body and my partner told me it looked like the heat rash he used to have when he was young himself, so I stripped LO's clothes off which was fine because it was a warm day, anyways my partner drove off and I forgot my sons baby bag while I was worrying over him, so after shopping for a bit and telling myself I would watch my son and see if him cooling down made his rash go away. He started crying for a bottle, and I realised I didnt have his baby bag, so I went and bought new bottles and a new tin of formula and as I was making him a bottle some woman starts screaming at me telling me to put some clothes on my son and that I should be ashamed of myself, and I told her to smurf off, but I cried. Haha. I know I wasnt doing anything wrong and she didnt understand my situation but why do people have to stick their noses in where it doesnt belong?!

I'm sorry you went through that!! People are stupid.

I took my daughter outside in her diaper (very hot day), the store is literally two doors down and it's just a window you order in, not like a supermarket.... the lady refused to sell me anything unless I put a sweater on my spawn.

People will never mind their own business.

people are a-holes. it was 101 degrees here the other day and I was about to take my kids swimming. I stopped at the store to look for a life jacket for my son and people were staring at them. My daughter had an adorable 1 piece swim suit on and my son was wearing just a cloth diaper. Um yeah it was entirely too hot to be clothed. Don't let them bother you. She has no idea that you are dealing with a sick kiddo and it's none of her business anyway.

When I see naked babys in the store it kinda bothers me and its trashy IMO. But I would never say anything to anyone. I probably wouldsve just went home instead of taking my baby to the store with a bad rash.

I had no way to contact my partner and so I had no car, and I desperately needed things from the shops, as soon as he got back we took him to the hospital and the rash was from him being sick but it did start to dissapear when he was cooler, I guess everyone has an opinion but she didnt need to yell at me about it or even say anything at all.

trashy? Who are you to determine what is and isn't trashy? A naked baby could mean anything. Like the child is sick or has a fever. Or maybe it's just too damn hot to keep them in clothes. babies are cute in just diapers.

next time tell her to mind her own business. you didn't do anything wrong. you made your baby comfortable and that is exactly what a real mother would do.

Actually, around here people are nuts. The average child is dressed in a sleeveless t-shirt, a t-shirt, a thin long sleeved shirt and either a t-shirt over that if it's warm out or a sweater if it's cool.

If they have a fever they are wearing coats, hats and scarves to "sweat the fever out", regardless of the weather.

Hey that is just IMO. I wouldnt take my baby out in just a diaper and we have 100+ all summer... maybe in yhe ftont yard, but not to a store. I know OP had a good reason. I am just saying. The lady had no right to talk smurf to her but it does look bad.

I agree, completely. I think it does look a bit "trashy" the way I see some kids in states of undress out in public. But, I would also not speak my mind about it unless the child was obviously in danger or something. Opinions happen. Everyone has something they find unappealing, trashy, unclassy, etc.
