anyone else on their last legs?

so, today was my due date, and it's now 10:34pm!
I've heard a lot of good things about castor oil working, ie a friend had two tablespoons of it the night before her due date, and her little girl was born the next day!
I'm thinking of trying it tomorrow, and I'm aware of the side effects and none that I find severe and am willing to give it a go, just wondering though if anyone else has done it and it's worked for them?

BAD BAD IDEA........she got lucky .. it dont work most the time she was probably just going into it anyway... try walking /sex /spicy foods .. you dont wanna smurf all over yourself if you do go into labor and everyone reacts different good luck

Your due date is nothing but an ESTIMATE..which is why it's called an EDD. Your baby will come when it's ready.

if you want to be on the toilet for a few hours then sure go ahead and take it

castor oil will give you the smurfs, that's it. no matter what you try the baby will not come until it's ready. also, a due date is just an estimation, it's not exact. i went 5 days overdue and everything turned out fine. patience is a virtue.

this is now the 2nd post about someone recommending castor oil.

don't do it. your baby could pass meconium, & you will probably just end up with the smurfs, too.

it's not worth it at all.

your "due date" doesn't mean he/she has to be born today.

I've actually done research on it, and babies pass meconium when they're passed their due date as it is! I've known several ladies who didn't touch the castor oil, and their over-due babies had high meconium.

My post was asking about success, not someone to be telling me what to do or not to do.
and 'the smurfs' is a part of a lot of labours anyway, so it doesn't bother me.
AND I'm perfectly aware my due-date doesn't mean he would be born today, but what I've been through, through-out this pregnancy I'm over being pregnant and I'd like to cuddle up to my baby.

& no, babies normally don't pass meconium just because they are overdue. that is why they want babies out before 42 weeks, not before 40 weeks. there is a higher chance, but it's not guaranteed.

take the risk, you dumb smurf.

Well believe it or not, your baby could still be up to 2 weeks early if you push it out now. If it gets Meconium poisoning, or if it's underdeveloped you wont be cuddling your baby because it could wind up in the NICU.

yeah smurfs are part of it sometimes but Castor oil is a bad idea that doesnt work.. if you could hurry babies everyone would do it .. right
