i had contractions to really painful and you don't expect it to be that painful as most people say it's like a heavy period so it's scary but not once has that been my experience, heat pack cup of tea and a very large chocolate bar! (when u can stomach it) you should defo have a blood test or scan in a few days though to make sure you have passed everything as just because your having a painful one doesn't mean you will big hugs xxx

I'm so sorry you are having to go through this. I know how scary and painful it is

I also had a miscarriage at about what should have been 12 weeks, but baby only measured 9 weeks. During my mc, I had very painful contractions, and would have a rush of blood with each one. I actually thought of my mc as a mini labor since the contractions were pretty bad and steady, but not as horrible as they were for me during active labor with my kids. My contractions lasted about 3 hours until I passed the sac, then all my pain immediately stopped.

If you have too much pain or too much bleeding, I would definately go to the er. If nothing else, they can offer you peace of mind and pain medication. I hope everything passes soon, and you are able to get some relief.

I hope it happens for you soon too mama! I had my mmc in March, so I remember vividly what it was like. I remember just praying for it to end. Just know the pain will pass. That is what kept me sane during the process. I really am sorry you are having to go through this

I would suppose. Well some don't get contractions, they get just cramps. I believe the further along you are you would get them. For me it took the medicine prescribed by the ER ob/gyn, and 3 ibuprofen + a heating pad to ease the pain when I tried to sleep. Stay positive hun.

After the contractions stop, you might have on again off again cramping that feels similar to your period. I will tell you after I initially passed the sac and such I bleed for 2.5weeks, and my first regular cycle was 5 weeks later.

Quoting pigeon pair:" Did you go through this with the contractions ... like were they heaps painful? I've read of contractions ... [snip!] ... out about them getting really painful made them come come quicker. They still hurt bad but are getting easier to get through."
Yes, they were very painful. Basically, you're body is going through labor. Just early. It's awful to say, but I finally realized (after walking helped and they were at regular intervals, etc.) that my body was.....for lack of a better term, aborting the pregnancy and laboring to have the child/fetus come out. Yes, is was very early and it was incredibly odd for me to feel I went through that at 8 weeks (2 months? I thought it was a joke) but it's true. My OB confirmed.
