I AM STRESSED TO THE MAX AND COMPLETELY DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO. Im 18 years old and have a 2 1/2 month old little boy. i am a single teenage mom & currently reside with my grandparents. i moved out of my moms house after graduation last year on bad terms and moved in with my ex boyfriend (babies father) . things have always been rough at my grandparents financially and with the economy just getting more rough its just getting worse here. my mom has insisted and insisted me and my son move back in with her until i get on my feet, but her house is just a two bedroom small trailer and my little brother lives with her & me and my step dad don't really get a long at all (he's racist and my little boy is mixed) so he always makes rude comments, but i know i need to do whats best for my son, i really wanna live on my own, but am currently unemployed and can't apply for HUD (assisted housing) until im 19 (in august) but at my grandparents they barely make it to pay the bills every month, i will be recieving child support soon & am on WIC but it still doesn't stretch very far, so i really need some advice on what to do! like i said im young & new at the whole mom thing, and i know if i leave my grandparents its going to cause hard feelings.. please no rude comments.

How about waitressing jobs and such? They're always hiring. I worked in bars and made pretty good tips.

Yep. You really have to start out on the bottom rung when you're fresh out of high school and you don't have any work experience. Food service and retail are great choices--places like Wal-Mart (my first job out of high school, overnight maintenance before I moved up), Target, Home Depot. If you've already applied and you haven't had any response, APPLY AGAIN.

Retail giants like Wal-Mart and Home Depot are hiring literally EVERY MONTH. If you don't get your shot now, try again. Call them and tell them you've submitted your application and that you are interested in being interviewed. If they say they aren't hiring (A VERY COMMON EXCUSE IN LAZY HUMAN RESOURCE WORKERS!), ask them when they will be hiring and if they can look at your application then. Follow through with it though! If you haven't had a call back, call them and see what's up. If you have to, ask to speak to the store manager about their hiring. This will smarten up any lazy workers who are too damn lazy to pull up your application and schedule you for an interview.
