Yea I doubt that. They would have given her family first choice. You live with his mom? Why would you file to be his mom if you live with her? Can you provide any proof?

Wait I thought she said the mother lived in another state?

This is fishy. I don't see any court allowing a 19 yr old who is single to adopt. What kind of job do you have, do you own your own home and are you financially stable to be raising a child without struggling? If you answered no to those questions and don't have an amazing job at 19 then I say you're full of smurf.

Well, hopefully you're not home schooling him! lol. Not sure if this is just your internet grammar that is so poor or what! I also hope you have a good job, it wouldn't be fair for you and him to have to struggle. Good luck!

i did finsih high school n i am going to collage. no his birth mother no loner lives with me, she left when she gave me the baby. n they didnt ask her family bc they live n a diff state, they looked for the father, couldnt find him. she signed her rights over to ME her family had no choice n the matter

Do you think you can provide for him? Would he be better off being adopted by a couple in a better position economically?

I don't mean to judge, it just sounds like this little boy has already had a tough life. Raising a child is difficult. But here are many young single women that do it.

IMO.. You have to actually overcome something to Give this kind of "encouragement" that you wanted to... I've been through some very random crap in my journey. But I still feel I have no place posting something like this and expecting hoorays :-/ Kudos to you of it's true. However, don't put it all out there like this. It's obviously going to start something. I WAS a teen mom.
