None of my kids were potty trained until they were over three years old. 22 months is nowhere near old enough to force potty training. He'll get there when he's ready. Tell your parents to mind their own business.

My youngest is 26 months and not potty training yet. They do it when they're ready. You're just wasting your time if you pressure them.

None of my boys were PT until they were 3 years old, so to me 22 months seems very early. I was more then ready for them to be PT by the time they hit 3 and it went very easy with each of them thankfully.

My mother puts TONS of pressure on me for Potty training. My son isn't even two and a half and is NO WHERE near ready for potty training. I will not force potty training on him since it will only be a frustrating experience for the both of us. I also told my mother he would be potty trained when he would be ready, and not before that.

Yeah it goes easy when they're ready. We tried several times with my oldest to no avail, but when he was ready it just happened. I always recommend waiting.

My Son pretty much self pt'd at nearly 3 1/2. It was a breeze for pee. Pooping however took a few weeks. That was messy   He still wears a pull up over night though just in case.

I recommend it too, since with all 3 it was so incredibly easy and I've heard from so many others how challenging it was for them, but their children were younger.

My last son literally went from sitting on his own potty, to our potty, to standing up and peeing, with zero accidents at Disneyland for a week all within a 2 wk period.

We still put on a pull up at night as well since they are not always dry overnight.

Yeah, my Son is dry most of the time but once to twice a week he's wet and I swear it would be my luck as soon as I put knickers on him he'd wake covered in piss. I don't see the big deal wearing them over night... For him as soon as he wakes up he goes to the potty. He just won't purposely wet himself (thank cod).

My son is the same way, and it doesn't bother us a bit to put him in the pull ups. With all our boys we left them in them until they were dry for a few weeks overnight.

That's a great idea
Part of this is my fault cause I still have the same bed time routine for him which includes about 8 oz of milk before bed

im glad i am not crazy then.
DD doesnt stay dry over night yet so i wasnt looking forward to getting her out of bed one hour after her falling asleep and one hour before really getting up (since that is what the method is recommending) and she is just now starting to tell me when she needs a new diaper. i dont want to push her if she isnt ready, but i know she COULD do it if i did try the 3 day method.

Aww we do the same thing lol. It's his routine and it doesn't bother us at all so we haven't tried to change it.
