exercise with baby..

posted 8th May
i am now 34 weeks preggo, and i feel like a whale.. i know that i didnt only gain babyweight, my legs are huge, everything huge.
I'm a short 5'2 and i weigh now a 170 lbs right now... I gained about 40 lbs so far.. My tummy looks like I'm only 6months. But my legs look like I could carry a baby each leg..

I wanna get back to the 130... Fast, but healthy. How fast is healthy? I mean, I know, 9 months to bring the weight on, and 9 to put it back down..

But when I here that some women loose their weight in less than 2 months.. Maan..

What do you do in the first 6 weeks when you aren't supposed to exercise?
And how often do you exercise after those 6 weeks to loose weight fast?

My problem will be, that my husband will be working pretty much all day, and I stay home with the baby, so I have to take her with when I'm gonna go exercise outside or so... And inside I can't do so much...

Any suggestions?!

aww, im 32 weeks and ive gained 19 pounds...i was 5'3 and 130...my tummy isnt so big yet but i know how you feel, my legs are HUGE...i feel like thats where most of the pounds went! but i think once your baby is out and you can excersise, pilates would be a good idea, i have had friends that have done pilates after their babies and they look better than before they were pregnant...i believe it took 2-3 months for them to get back into shape! andddd..im sure during the 6 weeks that you cant do anythnig the weight will fall off slowly...are you going to breastfeed?

Get a postpartum workout dvd! That way you can do it at home when you can't go out! I have this one.. It has before and after work outs! She is insane but has awesome workouts! I really like this dvd. I also have before and after yoga dvd... you can also go for walks/run with stroller once the baby's old enough. Some places also have workout classes that you can do with your baby... my area doesn't

Alot of the weight isnt you, its baby and all of the other things that come along with it so alot of it will come off the first couple weeks.
For the first 6 weeks, if your L&D is uncomplicated and you dont have to worry about alot of stiches etc. then try to get out walking when you can. After the first 6 weeks when you can really start working out again try getting a exercise videos and some weights, bands etc. to use at home. Also, walk alot and if you can even go running, if you can afford it a running stroller might be a great investment for you if you plan on using it.
