Vaginal prolapse?!

posted 22nd Jun '12
Have any mamas got one or had one repaired with surgery/physio etc?

I saw my physio for back problems/bladder weakness from LO's pregnancy & this pregnancy..

She got me to fill out a questionnaire and had a chat with me & she is concerned that it might be what i have..

I think she's right & I'm a little bit worried.

Should i mention this to my midwife/DR and get them to check etc?

Urghhh this is so embarrassing

I haven't personally, but my grandmother had something similar. She had a complete bladder prolapse. She had to have a surgery to stitch her bladder back in place, from what I heard the surgery itself wasn't all that bad.

My moms friend have a complete vaginal prolapse as well.

I'd bring it up to your Dr. They may to be able give you more details about it. Best of luck!

Thanks mama..

Its a bit of a personal subject and i never really thought too much of it until i began filling out the physio questionnaire & spoke with her about things like sex, pelvic pressure, using the bathroom, bladder weakness etc..

I've read a little bit about it online and the more i read the more i realise i need to get checked out.. but I'm a bit embarrassed to be honest.

I know babies tend to screw up our bodies a little bit, but these definitely aren't 'normal' things.

Im really hoping its not too far gone & physio can help.

I know what you are saying about it being a personal issue, I think ANYONE, even the most open person would be a little shy to say they might have a vaginal prolapse. But it is repairable and hopefully you caught it early!

After my son was born (2nd child) I had a urethra prolapse. Felt like their was a tennis ball in my vagina.

They had me do kegals at least 10 times a day for 3-5 minutes a time. I had to do them for a month and went back and it had moved back up a bit (the tennis ball feeling went away after a few weeks)

It was quite painful and the next step would have been seeing PT for therapy and if that didn't work then surgery was the last option. (Where they would hammock my bladder and move everything back)

I did a TON of kegals I mean WAY WAY WAY more than I needed to and luckily mine went back up. Hoping you get some good answers but all I can say is Kegals worked for me.
