Amenmic and breastfeeding?

I was asking my best freind if she was going to breastfeed. and she said probably not because shes enemic? Does this have anything to with breastfeeding ? She just found out she was pregant. I told her that her doc. will prescribe her iron pills, and she could continue taking them post partum.

Please dont bash her or call her igornant. She is only 17, and is all so new to this.

I am anemic and bf'd both of my children with no issue.

I have heard that it can affect milk supply, but I imagine it is treatable & she would be able to breastfeed fine.
