I don't think that's stupid at all.
And it would probably be cheaper than IVF I would imagine. As long as there was no filing for child support or custody or some smurf later on down the line.

I don't see a problem with that. I mean would we be having this same debate if she was getting in-vitro(sp?) or going to a sperm bank I wonder?

I don't think its stupid altho i wouldn't do it, some women don't want a man around, and are perfectly capable of taking care of their kids on their own.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with it as long as both children can be supported fully and comfortably. If this woman is going to end up living paycheck to paycheck then it's not a good idea. If she has the means to comfortably live with two young children then go for it.

There's so much more to raising a child then just "wanting another one". Being financially stable is a must IMO.

make sure you have a contract drawn up with a lawyer

I think it's stupid... It can cause a lot of unwanted drama if things sour between the two people involved.

I'm Gunna go against and say no. I have two kids from a marriage that my ex wwalked off and left. They have never had or known a dad. I have raised to know that not all kids have dads etc... it still bugs and hurts them on days at school that are about dads or at Parks with dads. It didn't so much when they were little but as they get older it does. Not all families are the same but consider all aspects before doing.so

If you can financially do it, with no help from sperm donor(?), then I say go for it.
