Fever Help!!

I posted a few hours ago about DS having strep throat. We have been trying to give him something for pain about every 4hours (the doubling up thing.) He just had a dose of Motrin at 9pm...it is now 12:30am and his fever is 102.1. Should his temp still be this high with medicine? Should I go ahead and call his doctor or wait?

(he did spit some of the medicine out, but he got at least 1/2 if not more of the dose.)

How old is he? If he's a year or older, 102 is not high fever. It's a moderate. The only time you should take him in for a fever is if it's 104 or he's lathargic, can't turn his head... etc. Did he get a steriod shot? Antibiotics? How long has he had it for? Strep sucks. uh. i hated it.

He is almost 3, and just got his antibiotic today(only taken 1 dose). I know its not a "high" fever but it still seemed weird that I gave him medicine that is suppose to last 6-8hours and it didn't even last 4. I hate the doubling up thing...I'm always worried that I am going to give him too much. Hes never had strep, so I just don't know what to expect.

I don't do it either only because i hear so many different time. It's every two hours, no its ever hour in a half, no it's four. Is it ibfrophen? You just going to have to give it a day or two. I still ran a slight fever even when I was on medication. It's really bad for me and then I also had it at 38 weeks pregnant. It sucked. Poor baby. Just give him it again when the 6th hour hits. Just keep an eye on it.

I'm worried that I'm getting it too, ugh. But thanks, I went ahead an gave him his Tylenol dose about 20ish minutes early, so hopefully that will work.

They gave me like these tylenol 3's but it wasn't and worked so much better. I didn't want to take it, I hadn't even taken tylenol the whole pregnancy and then when I ran the fever, I was scared what it would do to the baby so I took it. Then a few days later my throat hurt so bad I could barely stand it so i caved and took the tylenol 3s. Luckily, my husband just got it this year a few weeks back and none of us got it.
