He's lucky I'm not there. They live 4 hours away from us. He's always been an asshole. My husband absolutely hates him and won't have anything to do with him.

I talked with my mom and asked her if she was going to stay with him.

She said "he's learned his lesson, he feels really bad now"

I'm sure most abusers do feel bad afterwards. A 60 year old manshouldn't have to "learn a lesson" he should know how to control himself better.

I'm just scared it could be her next time intstead of the dog.

I could totally understand that. She is just going to have to learn one day. Hopefully he will change before it ever comes to that.

He needs to have the crap kicked out of him...see how he feels about it.

I've been thinking about what to do and it has been really difficult for me. If they lived here, they would be fined for it. Unfortunately, they live way in the country where it is commonplace to shoot your dogs if they get sick instead of taking them to the vet. Basically, animals out there are not treated the way most of us treat our pets.

If I did report it, nothing would be done and it would cause a lot of problems betweenme and my mother. I wish I could help her and her animals, but unfortunately, it goes way deeper than just the animal abuse. He's an all around loser and my mother is needy and cannot be on her own without self destructing.

All I can do right now is pray that the dog is going to be ok and that he doesn't ever do it again......and that somehow he learns to change his life around, but he's had 60 years to do that and it hasn't made a bit of difference.

Thanks for listening girls and for all of your advice!

You didn't witness it, correct? If so, there's really not much you could do anyways. I'm sorry that you have to deal with this, sweetie!

Nope, I didn't see it. I just heard about it from my mom.

Thanks so much! How are you feeling today?

Is today turning out to be better than yesterday?

Oh so much better!! The bedding for the nursery came in the mail today...and all of the accessories I ordered for the nursery also arrived today. Our living room is filled with boxes.
I'm not feeling too great though. I just started on a new medication...and I've been having severeabdominal pain, nausea, runny tummy, and headaches. I'm thinking it's what I dealt with for five years...in and out of hospitals because of it. I've been placed on a half dose for seven days...and then back on the full dose. The side effects are "supposed" to go away within 5-7 days, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to deal with it for that long...even if it all does go away. Only time will tell.
Good news...tomorrow we go get the crib and changing table!!
How are you doing, love?

That's just one more thing you can check off of your to-do list! It always makes me feel better when that list gets smaller.

Sorry you aren't feeling well. 5-7 days can seem like an eternity when you are going through it, but I know you can make it.

When I don't feel well, I grab all the pillows in the house, toss them on my bed and lay in the middle of them and watch a movie and fall asleep. I don't know why, but it usually makes me feel a little better....I know, it's silly.

I'm doing pretty well! We went furniture shopping today and got new couches. Furniture shopping seems like it would be really fun.....that is until you actually have to make a decision. It's even harder when the other person has no idea what he likes, but knows exactly what he doesn't like. lol

I actually did that today! I watched No Reservations while cuddling with one of my cats. Good times. Good times.
Want to come over and pick out a couch for me? We don't have a couch...  We actually don't have any seating in our living room.
New couch. New mattress. Might I say, you royally suck!

lol.......we have no furniture either! when my husband and I got married, i made him get rid of all his bachelor furniture and we had my hand-me-down furniture.

We are procrastinators though, so it has taken us a long time to finally say "ok, it's time to get new furniture"

Is it strange that we took in account how comfortable our dogs would be on the furniture when we bought it? They are some spoiled babies.

How was that movie? I want to watch something, but I can't find anything good on.

Aw! Your dogs are lucky to have such great parents!
No Reservations was great! I really enjoyed it. National Treasure is on tv over here...my favorite movie!

OooooOoooOoOO...I despise people like that. I know this guy I work with that asked our boss (his uncle in some weird way) if he could have a dog. The reason he asked for a dog is because the idiot just moved back here (for the 2nd time) from California and doesn't have a house or a car (he drives a company truck). Well our boss said yes and he got this adorable black lab puppy when he was only a month old or something. Anyway, he had nowhere for the dog to go and so he'd always leave the dog here at the shop (we're in the excavating business) and he'd put him on a chain (all day and all night) right by this tree and his dog house.

Long story short, it took forever for this moron to grasp the concept that he sucks ass at being a pet owner. I agree, animal abuse/neglect is equal to child absuse/neglect. I'm not a PETA fanatic or anything but I love animals and I treat my animals with love, tenderness and decency. Anyone who doesn't feel my wrath. Well this guy wasn't feeding, watering or really even interacting with this poor, little dog. I told my Dad about it and he was so angry he said he'd come and sneak the dog out of here some night and take him home with him because he was so poorly treated. The owner/boss just would shake his head when he'd see that the dog hadn't been fed all weekend and was rabid with hunger.   It absolutely broke my heart. This same f'ing idiot ran over this dog's foot with the 1-ton truck they use and luckily, the dog's foot was undamaged. I don't see how, but it wasn't hurt badly. He squealed and limped for about four days, but that was it.

Needless to say I voiced my opinion and threatened to call the Humane Society and now the dog is owned by this 16 year-old boy who loves and cares for him. I'm so glad that f'ing dumbass didn't get to keep him. He's so ignorant and selfish.

Wanna know what his reasoning for getting the dog was? He needed something to love him. HA! And he wonders why he's single... *barfs a little* I despise stupid, selfish people with a passion. There's no call for mistreating a defenseless, loving animal. It's wrong and I'll always believe that it's wrong.

Wow, that is a terribly selfish man. I'm just glad that it had a happy ending and the dog now has a good home. I get so down sometimes when I think of all the animals that are neglected in the world.

The kind of person that does that is a pure asshole.

My mom is married to one just like that. He used to abuse my dog all of the time.

You could go kick him in the spine and try to do the same to him. Assholes like that deserve it.

I hope the dog is going to be OK   poor little thing
