will it work this time?

with my son i got my membranes striped at 36 weeks and i was 2 cms. nothing happened just some cramping then at my 37 week appt. it was a friday i was 3 cm. and my doctor did it again and i had him 2 days later on sunday i woke up and my water broke. im getting them stripped this time with my daughter and ill be a little over 37 weeks on tuesday and as of last tuesday i was 3 cm. do u think it will work?

I would go ahead and get it done if u r ready. U might get bashed for it but go ahead I will be 36 wks at my next appt. and I was thinking of doin something similar cause it doesn't always work the first time but u r at a 3 it might work quicker.

I had mines stripped on my due date with my son and I was dialted at 2. I went straight to the hospital after that. I had my son 6-7 hours after I got there.

With my last daughter i had mines stripped at my dr appointment at 3 p.m. and delivered her at 10:30 that night. I was 38 weeks and dialted to 4 cm.

I'm going to ask my Dr.about stripping my membrane....I never thought about that before. I was just going to go ahead and get induced......ummm....now you're making me think.

I works! Maybe not right then but it works it also helps if their fingers aren't HUGE!

But you still have a little over a month ago....why are you going in Wed? Just to get checked or you have to go in due to a medical reason? (sorry not trying to be nosy)

I have a reg. appt. But I have numerous problems w/ this baby high BP and anemia and high HR contractions all the time and the list goes on. I go weekly now and have been for two wks. I know that striping the membranes thing doesn't always work the first time and it can help things along. I have three other babies at home and I have no one around to help so if I have the baby I need to have her sometime around the weekend so i have help not saying I will have it done but it is a thought.

Sorry to hear that....but you're a very strong woman to go through so much and have a positive outlook on life. I know everything will be alright.

LOL thanks I try. U have to have an open heart and an open mind to have a decent life. I have been through alot to only be 20 but I look at everything I have been through as a blessing and I learn a little from everyone! I love to help people out when I can and I get joy out of it. Don't get me wrong I have my mean side but for the most part I have to stay positive and happy. People like u more if u r positive and happy!

Exactly! Thats the way I am/was at work...I was always happy or had a positive side/attitude about everything, only b/c I been through so much in the past at my last job, that I know how to deal with so much. But stay positive and focus! You're a very very strong person-stay that way!
