Birth Certificate signing??
posted 21st Jun '12
I'm moving to Texas in August. The father and I have already discussed it, and he's fine with it. I'm not due til November. How would we go about with the signing of the birth certificate?? He'll still be here in Washington, and I know there's a paper that has to be signed when the baby is born. Do I mail it to him or what??

Im pretty sure he has to be there at the hospital to sign it.
Otherwise he might have to go through the courts.

Contact the hospital you will be delivering at and get the info from them. They may be able to send it to him once the baby is born.

I signed all my kids birth certs... my 2 younger 1s I put all the fathers info on it myself, and the dads had to sign the paternity papers

When i had my daughter they wouldn't let my fiance be on the birth certificate unless he was actually with me so they could check his ID and whatever other paperwork they needed for him.

I really hope its that easy. Court is such a hassle. We're finally getting along and I'd like to keep it that way.
