Not sure where to start. Need support.

posted 21st Jun '12
The title pretty much says it all. So I guess I'll take a shot at it. I'm a college student that only works part time so money is tight. My fiancé is re-enlisting in the Corps and even though we feel our situation will become more stable, we just have so much going on with our lives and don't know how a baby would fit into all of it. Parenting is not an option, and neither one of us want to adopt it out. We don't necessarily want to abort, but it's the only option we have. This pregnancy was NOT planned at all. I don't really know what else to say, I guess I'm just looking for support? Besides Josh, I don't have many people I can talk to or know many people who've been through this process. I'd really appreciate if any of you ladies could fill me in on what to expect and how your own experience was. I'd appreciate it very much

Btw, I joined back in 2009 when I first thought I was pregnant. Turned out it was a false alert. And if there's anything I left out, I'd be more than glad to answer any questions!

Talk to each other. Think through every option as much as you can. And if this is the correct option for you, you will find a lot of support here in AS.

Generally they do a first appointment, do a urine test and talk through the options with you to make sure you know all of them (including the different options for an abortion), and set up a second appointment.

Any other questions, just ask.

Thank you for the response! We're 100% sure this is the right option. I'm currently stuck on deciding if I want to do the pill or surgical. I'm only 5 weeks I think. Im just paranoid if I take the pill that it won't work.

I would ask the folks at the clinic you go to as many questions as you can about both. There are pros and cons to both options, and it's really a personal choice which you feel most comfortable with.

Good luck, hun. Feel free to PM me if you need any support or have any questions.
