6yo with BO?

My daughter is 6. She will be 7 in October. She has REALLY bad Body Oder. Is this normal? She also has a few pimples. Could she really be going through puberty at such a young age? Do you think it's something I should take her to the Doctor for?

Eta: She needs deodorant. Her armpits have the smell of BO.


On a positive note...Her brother will be 3 next month and for the past 3 nights he's gone to bed with NO diaper and he hasn't been wetting the bed at all! I'm excited to not have to buy diapers anymore.  

is it body odor? or like, cuz she didn't wipe good?
My little sister is 8, and I always get onto her because she smells.. she refuses to wipe when she goes pee. I just don't get it!
I've told her kids at school will make fun of her if she goes to school smelling like that.. but she doesn't care at all...

IDK about puberty but...my little cousin had to start using deodorant at around 6/7 because she was having the same issue...so it's not rare. For the pimples, you can talk to the pedi but they'll probably tell you to just wash the area to keep it clean.

It's under her arms that she smells. Not really anywhere else. She just has really bad b/o under her arms.

and maybe buy her deodorant.

I would take her in. It could be a PH imbalance. My cousin had a PH imbalance, and was the same as your daughter from like 4. She had to have special prescription soap and deodorant. There are also things you can change diet wise.

yes i would take her to the dr. could be early puberty.

Yeah she has her own deodorant. I am mostly concerned at her age and hitting puberty.

Thank you. I'll make her an appointment soon. I love her doctor. If there's anything wrong her doc will catch it.

She could definitely be going through puberty at that age, especially these days. Hormones in food could be the cause of it.

Hmmm I didn't think of that. Hopefully her doctor can give me some answers.

Her daddy was the same way Kat. The bad odor thing that is. Pimples can happen to kids too...though it doesn't happen to many kids.

My little brother is 9 and he started using deodorant when he was just turning 8 and he's now using acne face wash due to having pimples. We've asked him if he felt any of the signs and he said no, so well see.
