Fast Food allowed to encourage overeating

posted 8th May
I was watching Conan O'brian last night and he was talking about the new taco bell "big bell box meal" which includes a bacon club chalupa, a cruncy taco, a bean burrito, cinamin twists and a large soft drink. "It's the meal that's made for men!" they say.

How many of you have boyfriends/husbands who could eat all of this? If my husband gorged himself like this I think I would have the divorce papers drawn up.

Nearly 1200 calories, before the soda!

With obesity being such a problem in the United States, I really have an issue with fast food places pushing options like this that are obviously more than any one person should eat. Let's forget that the nutritional content of each item is shitty to begin with...but if you're going to eat it at least you can eat something that remotely resembles a reasonable portion.

I told my Fiance I wanted that, but it would be splitting it between us. It's still alot of food. I dunno if both of us could eat it all.

My husband can (and does) eat an entire grande meal by himself. He is also the skinniest thing I've ever met. But he also burns all those calories at work. I don't have a probelm with him eating like that, its his body.

my husband could eat all of it, he will usually get 3 of those big burritos a taco and a drink...but he's also 6'1 and 165 lbs, so he's no overweight at all, he's blessed with a crazy metabolism. but he's also in the army so he does his share of working out and running all that stuff. i totally agree though, it's a lot of food and it's disgusting and it does encourage over-eating.

I can't speak for SO's (as I'm single), but has anyone watched "Super-Size Me"? The guy HAD to (according to his own rules) supersize meals when asked if he wanted to, and the first time he did, he was literally sick because of the amount of food he consumed. He had McDonald's for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 30 days, and he was told by his doctor that he was literally killing himself by eating like that.

I try to stay away from fast food as often as possible, but when I have to get lunch out somewhere, I try to get only grilled chicken sandwiches and usually only eat half the fries (or less). I know the grilled chicken sandwiches still aren't great, but they're better than most of what is on the menu!

I don't see why everyone thinks a guy needs to eat SO much. It's like those hungry man meals. And those are AWFUL in causing heart attacks. And there is so much friggin food in them. My guys is careful in what he eats. He wouldn't even eat the DIBS ice cream bites.

Wow! You would divorce your husband because he ate a lot in one meal?

I don't really care that they offer those meals, they don't force it down the persons throat, they don't force you to buy it.

My husband would eat it all, but after eating MRE's for the past 6 months, he could eat a whole horse when he comes home.

my husband is definitely not overweight but he ate two of those box meals from taco bell yesterday. one for lunch and one for dinner. it was easier since we were busy yesterday. but i am positive i would also have no problem eating one of those either. i love taco bell food and have never really found it to be filling.

My husband could eat like TWO, and I wish we had the money to do so, haha. (He's got a super fast metabolism, so he's super skinny.)
