re: Fast Food allowed to encourage overeating

Quoting EmmaGrace:“ I was obviously being exaggerative with the divorce statement. But yes, I do care if my husband does something that is gluttonous and terrible for his health.”

*giggles* I guess. Does he get a time out too?

Eh, don't take it all personally, I'm just picking on you.

I only read the first one so far, but I have to comment. LOL My boyfriend is always telling the kids to be quiet and eat and I yell @ him for it! I tell him "Dinner isn't only for eating! It is time for us to all sit down together and talk. Granted a 2 an 3 y/o don't hold a good conversation most of the time, it's important to me to let them talk about the day! Even if it is just "I went pee in the potty!" Lingering at meals is good times! It's not all about shoveling the food down!

LOL my theory is they take 5 mins or less in the microwave and with my superior preggo eating talents I can have em gone in ten minutes and have time for a catnap before my son wakes up and wants to play the walking game.

Personally, I think it's impossible for everyone to get fat. Just like I think it's impossible for everyone to get skinny.

The *only* thing I see wrong with a person's body are the potential health issues they could face.

But no matter how a dietition + the government tries, they'll never be able to legislate good health. It's a personal choice, and let's face it...not everyone is going to choose the salad over the amazingly tasty burger and fries. I wouldn't...(except for now, but that's not based on my health..that's based on my child's health.)

My hubby is skinny and he would probly eat one of those if he was hungry enough... More to the point, he could eat that much, but he would not like all of whats in there LOL He is an extremely picky eater LOL We don't eat out much, so I don't really worry about it... The rare occasion we DO eat out I figure are few and far enough between not to freak out about it... I guess if we have a major junk food vice it would be Pizza, but I but DiGiornios, not that they are nutritious, but they are not nearly as bad as actual fast food ones. I am the only chubby one really of the 4 of us, and thats mpostly bc I don;t metabolisehow processed mostfoods arewell... I do better with organic and fresh/fresh stuff but cannot afford it and to be honest, i could manage to lose the pounds but I am lazy LOL And furthermore I think our sedentary lifestyles have just as much if not more to do with our rising obesity as what we eat does. Calories CAN be burned.

Makes you wonder what the hell they're putting in our food! My first thought is genetically modified ingredients and added hormones and steroids.

I'm not, and yes, he does get a time-out when he's bad. (He also gets spankings, but only when he's good.  )

I got that for my husband one day. He's not fat though. He actually has a really hard time keeping on weight, not to mention he's in the Marines and PT's several times a week with intensive workouts.

I usually just get a quesadila.

People choose their food and I would be willing to say that most (if not all) adults are aware of the negative consequences that such eating can lead to. I don't feel the government should smack someone's hand for eating too much. That's the individuals choice. I do feel that insurance companies should have the right to either drop or reject coverage to someone who lives an unhealthy lifestyle (or to charge them more). I shouldn't have to pay for Jane and John who lack self-control.

I blame it on white bread! LOL Our bread is much different than European bread, they eat a lot of thick, dense, dark bread. We eat fluffy white good for nothing bread! (well, we eat whole wheat at our house, but America as a whole eats a lot of white bread!)

adam eats that. he loves it! if he didn't get it all together in a box, he'd be ordering just as much seperate. and adam is TINY! he weighs about 150, is nothing but muscle. obesity will never be a problem for him lol he drinks about 5 or 6 protein shakes a day on top of his regular meals and still can't gain weight

Note: The "healthiest" fast food restaurant is Chik-Fil-A. I think I heard somewhere every single thing on their menu is 200 calories or less... so if you get a meal the sandwich is 200, the fries are 200, and the coke is 200. Roughly.
