Quoting I'mamama:“ I can't speak for SO's (as I'm single), but has anyone watched "Super-Size Me"? The guy HAD to (according ... [snip!] ... fries (or less). I know the grilled chicken sandwiches still aren't great, but they're better than most of what is on the menu!”
Quoting EmmaGrace:“ I was watching Conan O'brian last night and he was talking about the new taco bell "big bell box meal" ... [snip!] ... to begin with...but if you're going to eat it at least you can eat something that remotely resembles a reasonable portion.”
Quoting usmcbaby!*38days*:“ Wow! You would divorce your husband because he ate a lot in one meal? I don't really care that ... [snip!] ... it. My husband would eat it all, but after eating MRE's for the past 6 months, he could eat a whole horse when he comes home.”
Quoting Mrs.Dani 5 wks Left!:“ My husband could eat like TWO, and I wish we had the money to do so, haha. (He's got a super fast metabolism, so he's super skinny.)”

[snip!] ... to begin with...but if you're going to eat it at least you can eat something that remotely resembles a reasonable portion.”My mom and I were actually discussing portion sizes from restaurants (anywhere) just the other day. It's disgusting how much food you get her in the U.S. I can't remember where I saw it (I will look for it and post it if I find it), but there was a report I saw not too long ago that discussed this very issue. It compared the amount of fries and the size of the sandwiches that are served in fast food restaurants here in the States to those that are served at the same chains in Europe, and the portions here are over double what is served for the same meal there! Most people don't realize that your stomach is only the size of your fist, and overfilling it will, over time, cause it to stretch and take more to fill it. It's kind of like a person who starts drinking heavily, and before too long it takes more and more to get that same buzz. It's sad to think that food is an addiction for so many people, and yet fast food chains are allowed to markettheir oversized portionstowards anyone, including children.
Quoting EmmaGrace:“ holy crap! I swear I couldn't even finish two of the items in that box. Why do men get to have the fast metabolisms? It's not fair.”

Quoting AndeeLee:“ When I was younger we had 2 exchange students from Germany, one of the gained 50+ lbs in the 9 months she was here! And my mom was anti-fast food, and made sure we ate semi-healthy all the time.”
Quoting NinjaBaby:“ Wow this thread makes me feel like a fatty. LOL I had the box meal yesterday for lunch while running ... [snip!] ... town so I usually don't have to pay - a definite perk for a single mom. And I eat those Hungry Man dinners too........hmm. LOL”
