is it just me or does anyone else see no point in kicking out your teen when you find out they're pregnant ? i mean whats done is done ! my dad told me it is a good idea since people will talk bad about the teen being pregnant but in my opinion i think people will talk worse about the parents kicking out their own child in a time of need ? yeah some parents get mad but like they say don't make promises when your happy and decisions when your mad ! no bashing please , i just want to see everyone's different point of view !

Depends on the circumstances I guess. If the teen was willing to step up finish highschool get a job and take care of the baby I would let them stay. If they were just going to not take responsibility and drop out never get a job and pawn off the baby on me all the time then hell no.

I think when somethin glike that happens, its the Parents not knowing how to react to the situation, and they just over react. If more parents would TRY to have more communication with their kids, these kinds of things might not happen. Seems though that families are too busy to even have dinner together anymore, let alone sit and have a proper discussion about sex, ways to prevent prgnancy, and the dangers of STDs.... I also think in that talk there should be talk of the future of the teen... traveling, college.. positive things so maybe they will look forward to becoming a young adult rather than a teen parent.

my mom said the reason she would have kicked me out was because i would be a bad example for my younger siblings, thinking they can go out and get pregnant and then live off mommy and daddy.
i personally would kick my daughter out if she got pregnant, they want to make adult decisions, then they can act like an adult, that means no more mommy and daddy to mooch off of. work a job, get a car, get a place to live, buy your own food..i think its fair, i waited until i was 18 to have sex, thought i was pregnant soon after but i worked a job, had a car, almost finished high school, paid my own bills etc..kicking me out wasn't a big deal. thank god i wasn't pregnant but i did move out shortly after

i was 16 when i found out i was pregnant with my 1st and my parents were extremely mad and disapointed. i think my dad took it the hardest tho and it took him 2 weeks to even look at me. parents will be angry at 1st and most of the time they will come around to the idea that their baby girl is growin up and they will have a grandchild. my dad wasnt happy the whole time i was pregnant and ever snce brought my daughter home from the hospital hetr and my dad has been inseperable (she will be 4 n september) so all i can say is good luck

Im not a teen now. I'm 20. Full time college student. I was 19 when I had my first son tho. I was only staying with my parents until I finished college (end of this year I'll be done before baby 2 gets here) they're kicking me out because they don't want me in the house "pregnant" so I'll be kicked out in about 4 weeks. Even though I'm a full time college student pay bills etc. their smurfing loss

In my opinion if a teen wanted to do grown up things, she should be given the grown up consequences. A lot of the times, parents don't "kick you out" they tell you to go live with the person who got your pregnant. Which I think it's the right idea. I most likely will offer my daughter all of my support if she gets pregnant throughout her teenage years ( which I hope not) but I'm glad my parents didn't support me. They taught me independence and I would've probably ended up like most teenagers, dropping my child with them to go out party and smurf.

Bullsmurf!

My family had dinners, I had countless talks with my mom about sex. At the end it all comes down to a teenager, a parent can't be behind their kid all the time. They can go on and on about their future and sex and talk to them every day but if a teenager decides they'll have unprotected sex everyday there's nothing a parent can do. Not to mention, kids won't come out and admit that they're having sex to their parents either. Not all the blame and responsability can put on the parents.

Not to be a bitch but I'm sure you don't pay the whole rent, or the whole light bill, water bill, cable bill, etc. It'll be way different once you move out. Again not to be a bitch but personally if my daughter was a teen mother who I allowed to stay home with me got pregnant a second time under my roof I wouldn't hesitate to kick her out. One child may be a mistake, two is being plain stupid and just abusing the help.
