Nursery furniture, check! - SO EXCITED!!

posted 21st Jun '12
YAY!!!

I can cross that off my 'to do list'

I've found a distributor who has the nursery furniture package I wanted in brown (everyone else only had white available) & even though the change table doesn't come in stock until August they are willing to let me do a laybuy plan through them, I'm buying the crib/mattress now & then the rest of the payment isn't due until August & they will ship it all together for me which saves me $110!

Baby isn't due until Oct so it works out great!

The whole lot is only going to cost me $778

I LOVE IT!

Yeah over here in Australia we aren't as lucky as you mamas in the states haha!!

We pay through the nose for 'cheap' furniture

The same crib in the shops is selling for $900 + $120 for the under crib storage drawer.. a simple set of drawers is retailing for $300-$500 and a change table alone for $120+

Im getting a bargain which is within our price range & cute nursery furniture so I'm really happy!

I've even looked at pre-loved nursery packages but they are selling for a ridiculous amount of money as well because they are brand label/pre-loved and are going for 1/2 price which is around $700+

Cheap for over there, maybe. Here I would laugh at a furniture store if they tried charging that much for two pieces of furniture.

A lady off ebay!

I actually ran across her package deal accidentally.. she had a different crib for sale in white & i emailed & asked if she had it in brown with matching drawers and asked for a freight quote etc.. she then sent me a photo of one she did have in stock that wasn't listed on her ebay shop (which was the one i was after but was wayyyy out of my price range with everyone else due to freight costs) & then i told her i'd buy it if i could wait for the matching drawers/change table to arrive & she agreed.

If you search 'cot change table drawers' it'll come up with a whole list of packages identical

This was the cheapest freight option for me, but if you live in a state other then WA (which is where i am) you'll get free shipping with most people!

Heres a link to one in my watch list if your int, the change table doesn't come in stock until Oct though.
(you'll have to copy/paste sorry, it won't let me link it properly)

You can email etc to check out freight & to see if they have matching furniture items etc, which is what i did.

It's beautiful!
Glad it worked out for you!!

I don't think that's a lot at all.... These people wouldn't even want to know how much DS's furniture was! lol

Have you picked out your bedding yet?
I have, but still need to order!

Yeah we do

I was actually looking at one of their cribs.. but it was around the same price as the one i just bought.. didn't have a storage drawer underneath, the side doesn't drop down (I have a really bad back) & it isn't as pretty so i wasn't going to spend $250 on something worse quality.

They have realllllly cheap cribs for $99, but they look really flimsy & i want something that i can convert into a toddler bed & that i can sell for a decent price.

Hence why i went with the one i chose after looking everywhere

TY mama  ..

Im stoked! I totally feel like i got a bargain.

We have quite a small room for baby #2 so the fact that the change table doubles as a change table & the crib has a storage drawer is perfect.

The less furniture the better IMO!

I have my eye on something i really like, but I'm still looking around.. the photos don't really do this crib set/fabric justice  .. but this is the one i like so far.

I like stuff that isn't too 'loud' or with lots of bright colours.

I really like gender neutral stuff, things that are easy on the eye & quite 'mellow'.. pastel yellows, greens, beige, chocolate etc really appeal to me.

Haha i suppose i have boring taste!

Which set have you chosen?

You have the same style as me. I hate bright loud colours. I'm subtle.

Its so hard to find boys cot/bedding sets in quite soft/subtle colours & patterns.. even nice unisex stuff is quite hard to come by these days.

For LO I had this bedding set & really liked it, but for our auzzie weather it was WAY too warm/heavy (the cot quilt) - originally it was from the UK so was better suited to their weather.

Now that i know for sure that baby #2 is a boy i'd like to get something a little bit more boyish while staying subtle if i can.
