There are still other options, he just needs to start looking ASAP. It won't stay like this forever unless you allow it to.

!!

OP my husband lost his job when I was about 7 months pregnant with our son. The thought of adoption didn't even come to mind. We sold everything we could. He went on government assistance while he went looking for jobs. We got all out bills and mortgage and debt repayments on hold or reduced massively. And when he was born we had to some how find money for our sons medical expenses because he was born with CHD. We went 6+ months like this until he finally found a good paying job that he loves.

Don't fret. It is doable. Don't just give up right away.

Good thing I asked for an opinion. That is useful. How is telling her her husband can get another job, and she doesn't have to give up her baby rude?

When was the last time he got unemployment and how long has he worked at this job? Apply for state assistance. At least you'll have food to eat. And there's also homeless prevention programs that will help people pay rent to keep them off the streets.

Here in AK you just have to make 1000 and you qualify for unemployment for a year.

I don't know California laws on the matter though. I say apply for any temp. assistance possible and email and apply for jobs up the wazoo. You gotta do what you gotta do. Life has a funny way of working out, and its always darker before the dawn.

Keep your chin up and don't give your baby to a family strictly on a fixable financial situation. I've been here twice with this pregnancy and everything suddenly is looking up. I know how ya feel.

It sounded like you were criticizing her when it's obvious she just wants to give her baby the best she can.

i live in a very small town with very limited job opportunities also he is going to court for an owi i totally agree we both can be looking for work and need to i would love to breast feed but i rather make money and keep my child then have no options...
also out here to receive cash aid you have to put your child in day care and both parents have to look for a job 40 hours a week at the same time that why the day care i have always though if im going to have kids i need to be a mom an raise them not day care not that its a bad thing just that it not something i really want... also i am a victim of sexual abuse and the day care scares me it only little money for cash iad here like 400 a month should i go for this as well

Well that's not how it was meant. Jeebus people put way too much thought into things these days.
"Are you kidding?" Meaning you don't have to give your baby up because your husband lost his job...I do believe the rest was self explanatory.

Where there is a Will there is a way. You can still work and breastfeed you will just need to pump while you're away. Maybe you could get a job at the daycare then you would be able to keep an eye on your child while earning money and maybe even the daycare would be free or very discounted. McDonalds is always looking for people im sure. Grocery stores looking for cashiers, baggers, overnight stocking.

You don't have to give up breastfeeding just because you work, but if you don't have the luxury of being a SAHM then obviously your LO will have to be in daycare, it doesn't mean you won't be raising him/her.
