re: hitting in public?

OK that was a lil extreme... i dont beat on my son nor will i beat on wutever is in me now, but i am a firm believer of swats... I give my sone who is 4 a 3 warning rule, the first time i explain to hi wut he is doing is wrong and why it is wrong and then let him be, the 2nd time having to get onto him i let him know once again that he is not allowed to do wutever it was he was doing and simply tell him the next time i catch him doing it he will get a "pow pow" as we call it, and then send him on his way.. usually after the warning he fixes the situation but there are times when he continues the wrong doing in that case depending on the situation i either tell him "you ready to go to the bathroom for your pow pow" and he immediately changes his whole perspective and apologizes and then becomes a lil angel but if indeed he doesnt fix the problem, he will recieve a LIGHT tap on his hand, never his bottom in public, NEVER... but there has been a VERY few amount of times where he has had a light tap on his hand for acting up, but nothing ever severe...
i believe its best talking with him but i also believe a swat on the butt or the hand wont harm or hurt him but will actually help him in the long run to realize quicker there are things he can and cant do and if he makes the mistake of doing something he is not allowed to do he will be punished.. He is not touched all the time, like i said depending on wut it is hehas done determines if he will get a swat or a time out or a loss of something, such as his favorite toy for a day or no snack after his lunch etc...
