After abortion complications.

posted 20th Jun '12
I was in the ER today because some tissue is stuck in my uterus and I almost passed out at work from the pain of cramping. I was given a shot and a LOT of pills. I am wondering if anyone else had this happen?

Also, when is it okay to have sex/use a tampon? The doctor did not tell me after the procedure.

I wouldn't suggest it until after all the clots have passed. You should be using pads.

6 weeks for sex just like as if you delivered. this happened to me but my body actually rejected the tissue itself after 3/4 weeks.

I sure did! Same thing happened to me, and they told me it was normal-ish. Or 'happens often'.
I wore a tampon my next period. Plus my period was like, 2/3 weeks later.

I felt comfortable, and knew it was no longer bleeding from the procedure.

You shouldn't use a tampon at all right now, treat it as the same as after a vaginal delivery, nothing up there for 6 wks.

I'd wait 4-6 weeks to be on the safe side for tampons and at least 6 weeks for sex. If you still have doubts call and ask the doctor that did it just to be on the safe side. Hope you heal quickly.
