re: He ate it ALL o_o

The 'growth book' we get says to start giving some solid purees at 5 months, including rice cereal, (It's funny, because all of the purees and such say 'from 4 months on'.) although my mother-in-law said to give him bread at 3 months. Now THAT is early >_> I think the closest to that he'll get is some teething crackers/cookies if he starts (and he has been fussy for the past three days, which could also be attributed to the intensely hot weather outside).

I live in Enschede, tucked right against the German border =D It's nice, but I miss Minnesota X_x

Dante's Momma: Thanks for the compliment. I love the faces these kids can make. Being a new parent and all, it helps the frustration when you can just laugh a lot of it off.

I just waited until 6 months before starting on anything because nate was happy with just breastmilk.....
I just ran through everything with my pedi first....and played it extra safe.

Well... J was around 5 months when she started. She ate rice cereal. At 6 months, I had to put her on formula due to an ever dwindling supply of bm... it took her a bit to get used to it. Now she's on stage 3 foods, and eats anything I give her. She has no food allergies. She hated rice cereal at first, and then tolearated it. Now she will eat oatmeal cereal but not rice. She likes things mixed in her cereal. Also, if your baby doesn't take too well to new flavors (sometimes J doesn't.) mix it with rice cereal. It tones the flavor down some. Then gradually use less cereal and they'll get used to it easier.
