TMI WARNING

Okay so im 3 weeks PP and the week after i came home i had stopped bleeding and had a white heavy discharge which i thought was the end of the bleeding from delivery and the beginning of the discharge that showed i was almost done healing. well a few days after this happened i started spotting again and then now i feel like I've had a full on period for 6 to 7 days and its not getting any lighter. Also I've noticed a sort of smell i guess you could say, almost like blood mixed with formula, i know it sounds weird but thats the closest smell i can think of. and idk if this means that i was two active and started to bleed again and now i have an infection or if this is normal. i know i should just ask my doctor but the doctor that delivered me is on vacation this week and i feel akward talking to the other doctor in the office cuz he doesn't really listen that well.

Idk, white and heavy discharge makes me think of pus since it is mixed with the blood. Are you having any cramping or a fever?

i had a fever for like 24hrs about a week ago. then it went away on its own, and I've had some cramping but nothing constant or even noticeable really

Hmm you still may have an infection. I would deff get it checked out when your doctor is back but until then I would leave it be unless you have severe symptoms like really bad cramping, filling a pad an hour, or a fever, then you should go to ER or Triage.

alright thanks. do you know what they do if you have an infection? is it just antibiotics or do they have to do something more invasive?

Probably antibiotics. I had a c-section incision that got infected and they had to run all kinds of tests to see what bacteria I had in it so they could determine what antibiotic would best treat it especially since I bf they had to be careful about what kind they gave me, but that is a whole other issue than what you have going on.

Oh you won't have to leave your baby if you bf. I had to be in the hospital for 3 days for the infection I had and she stayed in the room with me, but someone also had to be there with me in case something happened to me.

I formula feed :/ my son had latching issues bc he's tongue tied.

Ahh, my nephew had that. They just do a simple snip and he will be able to nurse.   My nephew still nurses and he is 2.
