Colposcopy

So this may be a dumb question I am not sure, I am scheduled to have a colposcopy tommorrow afternoon, and I think I feel as if I may begin my period (1st one since before I was pregnant, Ughhhh) . Should I call to reschedule? Would they still make me have it done tommorrow?

do you mean a colonoscopy?

I would call them in the morning and let them know if you started, they may want to reschedule.

No....she means colposcopy...it's where they look at your cervix with a special microscope and possibly do a biopsy...

I had a colposcopy done, I had to reschedule because of my period. I hated it.

I have to have one next weds. I wonder if it hurts???

Mine hurt, but I have heard from others it didn't hurt for them. Sadly to say I cried, which is odd because I can tolerate pain very well.

damn...now i dont want to get one...

I think if you start your period they will be okay with letting you reschedule...but then again, some doctors may just go ahead and do the procedure. I'm not sure if it changes the results at all.

And just a side note, when I had my colposcopy done, I cried a bit at the end, too. I had to lay there for about 10 minutes because I started cramping so bad. Hopefully yours goes better than mine did!!  

I thought it was pretty painful and uncomfortable as well. I had to have a biopsy done though, so I'm not sure how it would have been without that. I cried too!! I'm dreading getting my recheck within the next few months!
