Any Mommies who have babies with Urinary Reflux???

My baby was rushed the ER when she was 7 weeks old (shes now 9 weeks) with a fever. We found out it was a UTI and with further testing we found out she has Urinary Reflux, level 2 in the left kidney and level 3 in the right. I feel so guilty...like I did something wrong. I had alot of UTI's when I was little but 22 years ago they didnt know about reflux....I gave my daughter this defect and didnt even know it. Are there any mommies out there who can relate??? I feel so empty....

yes! they found out averie had it inside my womb. she was born at a stage 2, then had a kidney scan in march of 07, it was at a stage 4. she takes amox. dailly for it, and has her 2nd scan this friday. i hope and pray that she has grown out of it, like the drs hope too. it is heridity,
dont feel bad, she'll get better. do they have her on an antiboitic?

Hailey is on Keflex and we have to make an appt with a urologist. I was told that it cant get worse, only better from here but than again that was our pedi. talking. I feel better knowing I'm not the only mom dealing with this. Did you have problems with UTI's when you were younger? I keep telling myself that this isnt life threatening and the odds are in our favor but its so hard.

Its not life threatning. My Aunt in law has it and had her kidney removed about 20 some years ago. Remember you can live with one kidney! 
I remember having a few UTI's as a teenager,
Just remember to make sure shes having plenty of wets a day, 10-12. And if she ever wakes up dry, call your pedi. right away. If she spikes a fever, get her to the E.R. right away. You dont want a infection. Keep her well hydrated too!
Averie does fine. Couldnt even tell. And Im so nervous about her scan tom. morning. Its been a year since her last scan, so I will let you know what happens.

OK back from the dr. It was at a 4-5 last year at this time, and today, as of now, its at a stage 2!!! I was so happy! Shes growing out of it!! They want to see her back in a year! Shes still on her Amox. They uped her dose, b/c shes a lot bigger now! But doing good!!
So praying your little one grows out of it!! If mine can and will, yours can too!       

Yay!! I am so happy for you! I really hope Hailey grows out of it....I know that the lower the grade the higher chance they grow out of it. I am so happy for you!! Hopefully next year she will be cleared! We go to the Urologist on Tuesday so we will see what he has to say.

And its Averie, not Haley, Haley is my stillborn! Its ok dont worry 'bout it!  I saw Haleys name, and was like whoa! Its cool, we talk about her all the time, and the weird thing is, Haley would have had it too!! She also had one kidney bigger than the other one!!
