re: Autism and family dog.

So funny you brought this up-our parent advisor asked me today, as my sweet little Brady tried to flee away, if I have ever considered getting a guide dog for Brady. Apparently there is a trainer nearby and there may also be some funding for it. I will get some more info soon and let you know-so excited!

Lexie is a bluetick/treiss walker coonhound mix. She will begin classes in early July. He prefers to wait at 11 weeks. It would be too soon before hand. We will have to be careful with the walking even though she will walk with Emily. Hounds are hunters and once they catch a scent they just go for the scent without even noticing you calling after it.

The trainer seems very confident in Lexie though. She has the personality for it even though she is a hound. They have a good bond together and Lexie, at just 8 weeks is already submissive, has learned to sit when I put her collar on to go outside, comes to us when we call her (especially Emily), she even whines and yelps when she needs to go pee or potty! She's not even nippy for a hound pup. They bite when they play, not hard to cause damage but hard enough. She really is a sweet heart, needs lots of cuddles though lol. Her trainer didn't believe me until he came over this morning out of curiosity.

Keep in mind we've only had her since sunday. She is very very smart and very calm. Perfect for the training!
