Bad Rash

posted 19th Jun '12
LO has pretty bad diaper rash. He has sensitive skin but everyone who changes his makes sure it's done often. Usually he'll get it more towards his bad. Today my mom noticed that it's more towards the front. The rash is pretty big. We don't know what's causing it. To help him we put A&D cream, not the ointment. It has zinc in it and we make sure he's clean. His bath didn't make him feel any better. Usually it'll sooth it a little.

My mom thinks it's what he's eating. She thinks he's eating too many strawberries. They're his favorite. We can't even put them in the shopping cart or he'll reach over and grab them. Other than that, he doesn't eat anything different or too much of. The only think we switched was his cereal and I use the Parent's Choice Oatmeal instead of the Gerber Rice cereal.

Could be the strawberries. Stop having him eat them and see if it helps. No change in diapers, wipes, or soap?

Nope. All that is the same. He's been eating strawberries like crazy for the last few months. He'll look at other fruit and then look at me like "WTF is this?" lol He'll eat it but it takes a while. He'll open the fridge door looking for them. Idk how to cut him off of them just to see if it'll help

He's 15 months. His doctor just said to use rash cream with zinc in it, which we are. She's really no help. But I'm thinking if it doesn't clear up I'm taking him to the other doctor in the office. He mainly works in the hospital but we can go there without it being an emergency. I love small hospitals lol

He's been getting rashes on and off since I could remember now. But they're like the typical little patchy type rash. This just started today and it's just red and irritated looking. It's even on his "boys" and I feels so bad for him.

I would definitely get a second opinion. Having consistant prolonged rashes like that isnt normal. Poor baby   They should have prescribed him something to help him heal faster. There is no reason he should have to suffer. If its not the strawberries it could be another food allergy. I would take him to the other doctor. Hope he feels better soon
