when did you have a shower or did you?

I know Iam getting annoying to you preemie mama's but I have a million things running in my head since leaving the hospital yesterday. Iam only 25 weeks there is a good chance I will deliver early. I don't know if I should tell my shower planner to throw one way sooner, or wait. I don't want to get all these shower gifts and have something go wrong, then have to look at everything my baby would have had! And I don't want to come home and have nothing! If I had her now..I'd be SO unprepared. I haven't even started in the nursery!
What do you think?

I havent had a preemie...but... wouldnt the bubby stay in there until it was at least 36 weeks...so if you had bubs at 30 weeks that still gives you 6 weeks until it comes home... I dont think you should worry about the nursery stuff to much maybe just go out and get a few suits and the nappy bag packed... goodluck

Iam not sure what you're asking about the 36 weeks. I SO wish that were my case and it does happen that way. Unfortunatly, iam 25 weeks and the test indicate I could deliver within 2 weeks, which would put me at approx. 27 weeks.

I think i would wait just cause you shouldnt be up and moving and in the kaos of a party. I mean you would still have time for baby to come home and it would be a while so you can have your shower then but i would def have one but just after esp if you know for sure you are going to delvier that early.

When is your's scheduled for?

I would definately wait to have your shower. As a mom of a premie I waited until she was home to have my shower. There are a number of reasons the most importnat for you to consider is that if you do deliver in the next 2 weeks your baby is at a high risk to pass away. I know it sucks to think of the worse case sinario but it would break any mothers heart to have a nursery set up and have their baby never come home. If you seriously need the shower before your baby comes home I would wait until your pediatrician starts talking about your baby coming home and then have the shower. It's really your call but if you are looking at a 25 weeker there are way more serious things for you to be thinking about than your baby shower.

Trust me...I have thought of everything AND more! This was just something extra I thought of. It's not my first time I would deliver a 25 weeker, so Iam well aware of risks etc..

I know bed rest is a bumnmer are you at home or hospital?

I just got home yesterday after 5 days in the hospital. After no dialaton or contractions I was able to come home, only after I promised not to get out of bed except for bathroom privlages and I'd see the specialist as an outpt. tomorrow. Also twice weekly visits w/ my Ob now. I will totally comply for the safetly of the baby.
