re: OCTOBER BOYS

Hi! I'm due October 7. I'm also having a boy. We found out around 13 weeks.. Just made sure about a week ago. It's definately a boy though. He had his body in the perfect position haha. When the dr first started doing the ultrasound the baby was opening and closing his mouth! It was so adorable. We picked out Eli Jaxon for his name. I'm so excited. I haven't felt him kick but maybe once. I'mstill notconvinced that it was him kicking and not justgas haha. I'm getting kinda nervous though.. Shouldn't I have felt him by now?

nah you are ok. you most likely ARE feeling him and just not sure or not paying attention. most first time mommas don't feel their little ones until around 20 weeks or more. some of us got lucky and have VERY bouncy little guys and felt them early. some claimed it but it was gas. lol   just pay attention to those little feelings....

Hey there, I'm due in October and am having a boy as well. I'm going to chatter a bit here but I wanted to respond to everything people have mentioned in the post all at once. My tech told me at 12 weeks with the downs testing. I have been feeling him move for about three weeks now. The first time he woke me up out of a dead sleep and since then you can feel where he is laying in my belly, like a hard little ball to one side of my belly button. I can feel him move inside me, that's kind of like a heaviness pushing around (or the "Flutters" as people like to call it.) In the last week I've actually felt him kick with my hand a few times, everytime it's real quick. I just happen to put my hand on my belly and "pop" like he's trying to say "hi mom." I was very thin before I got pregnant so any little bit of weight I put on you can see, but I definately have a baby bumb and have resorted to maternity pants already. Ugh, they are the most hidious things! Actually I feel like I'm pretty big for being 18 weeks, but I've only put on about 5 pounds. Most of my friends have already had their kids, so I'm getting advice from fifty different sides, as I'm sure most of us are. But if anyone is in the Dallas area and would like to get together I'd love to have a preggie buddy, someone that won't get sick ofprego talk

YAY FOR BOYS! nah they said the reason i can feel my boy kick so much is becuz of the size of his feet..BIG FEET! he gets it from his grandpa's side of the family.

I am originally from Dallas but now live in Montana.   I have felt the baby move as well. Being my fourth I think its because I know what to feel for. Congrats on the boy and wish me luck in getting a boy too. The boys are WAY outnumbered in my house.

so i have so GREAT news! im enrolled in smoking classes. i havent has one since 12 oe 13 weeksits only been 3 or 4 weeks i know but its big for me. im a big girl so ill say this. its a BIG step. ive been smoking since i was 12. now that im pregnant and havestoped partyingand all that i talked to family and friends and they all are supporting me in it. im excited to go to classes cuz ive been wanting to stop for about a year. thanks to kayden i have a BIG reason too. i know i may get a lot of ppl mad at me for this but it be so helpful to hear i have support from you ladies too! and if anyone as every quite if they can give me some great way to keep ur mind off of it. thanks ladies!

Oh boy, I'll get it for this one. I'm a smoker/quiter too. I've gone from a pack or more a day to maybe one or two drags a day, depending on how stressed my day has been.Usually before I get to the second drag it's out, they just taste horrible now. But before anyone starts preachingto me I'll say this, my doctor is very happy with me for cutting down so much and would rather me continue on this route rather than quit completely because the baby can go through dangerous withdrawals.So here are my props to you! I'll be here to rant and rave should you need me, cuz I'm right there with ya hun. I know how hard it is.

i dont think ppl can really say anything unless they have smoked and tryed to quit. it really is hard. i never looked at it as an addiction. but it is. and it has a hold of you. but my brother..his mom ((we are both adopted)) smoked TWO PACKS aday while pregnant with him he was born a week early and was 4lbd 15oz but he was healthy. just small. ive done LOTS and LOTS of searching about what smoking does..low birth weight..andsometimes SIDS. so if you are smoking try not the last 3 months. but my brother is 6' 2'' now and smart as hell!

Good for you girls for trying to quit! I know how hard it is, I started smoking at a VERY young age, I don't want to say because honestly its embarrasing. I have quit about a million times and then started again. I finally stopped for good a couple months, cold turkey, before I got pregnant. That's the only way I could stop, just get it out of my system, patches and gum didn't help at all, but they will make you sick as hell if you do try to smoke with them lol. Maybe that's how they get you to quit? Now the smell of it makes me gag, even if I smell it on someone, it just disgusts me now, I think that may have to do with the whole pregnancy and smell thing. Anyway, keep it up girls you can do it!

do you think the gum would be okay..should i ask my OB about it?

I don't know, but asking your Dr is a good idea. I think why it didn't work for me is because I was also addicted to the habit of smoking, actually putting the cigarette to my mouth, know what I mean?
