How many?

posted 17th Jun '12
Ok, I have a couple of questions.

How many bottles? 5oz? 10oz?
How many reciveing blankets?
How many "thick" baby blankets?

Im planning 12 bottles each size, 15-20 reciveing blankets, and 10 heavy blankets

I wouldn't buy that many bottles before the kid is born. He might not like that brand

And you won't need to ever put heavy blankets on your infant in the crib. No blankets ever in a crib actually

LO is 10.5mo and we have used...1- 4oz bottle [free from Motherhood Maternity], 4 SwaddleMe's, 2 sleep sacks, 4 light/receiving blankets [for the stroller or swing/bouncer], 1 heavy blanket [rarely used].

recieving blankets 15-20
heavy blankets- 5/6
bottles - I didn't and wouldn't buy any more than 1 4oz in two different brands until the baby is born. You never know if he will like the certain nipples you are using.

I would go crazy with only 3 bottles. Lol I had 50+ bottles. Im trying to put a cap on that number. However I also had about 100 reciveing blankets and 50 heavier baby blankets. :/ im very obsessed with being over prepaired.

Were useing Mam bottles and I have to order them. They never have any at the stores around. If she dont like them I can buy different kinds. With my past with bottles, im 90% sure their will be no problem.

Honestly, I would just go for the bigger bottles from the start. Eventually you will grow out of the smaller bottles and then they are kind of a waste. We have maybe 20 receiving blankets (half of them are from the hospital lol) and we have 3 heavier-ish blankets.

Honestly i didnt see the need for more than 2 big blankets 1 to cover and 1 just in case it gets dirty

Reciveing blankets I usually do laundry just before i need more or ill hand wash a few till launbdry day

Bottles...Ive been contremplating on weather to buy more or not.. I was bottles all the time lol

Plus as of right now i live in a studio apartment so i couldnt be "over prepared" I only had to get the essentials

We keep blankets laying around, just in case. I wash clothes daily, but my son had colic and projectile vomiting. So I was going threw atleast 5 blankets a day. He is still very attached to his "pippin" as he calls it, and has 6, 1 is with him at all times. We live in the co, on well water so I have to have enough incase the pipes freeze and I cant do laundry.

With bottles, I just never feel you have enough. Id replace then every 2 months if I only had a couple, and end up with the same amount in the long run. and I cant just buy bigger bottles, it would drive me insane only putting 2oz in a 10oz bottle. But thats just me.
