Military Wives

Okay, so first I'd like to say PLEASE DO NOT BE OFFENDED BY THIS POST!

Here is the rundown:

I am an AF wife and because I met my hubby while he was stationed in my home state I have yet to PCS to a new place. Most of the people I hang out with are not fellow military wives, instead they are the people that I have been friends with my entire life. I have lived on base since my husband and I got married (2+ years) and I have a handful of friends (like 4 lol) who are also military wives - one of which I met from here on BG lol.

My question is this, is it just me or does anyone else feel like it is a gang of women who constantly gossip and talk crap to/about one another?? They are either judgmental & bitchy, or just flat out STRANGE.....that is at least how it seems to me. At the base I am at there are tons of Facebook pages that are 99% military wives of this base (geared toward spousal support, chatting, buying/selling things, etc.) and so I have met my fair share of them and I just feel like they are all the same, talking smurf about their supposed friends or saying how such and such is a bad mom....it just makes me crazy and I wanted to ask anyone else who has had experience with this.

I am also wondering, do you think this will change when I am at a new base, or is it like this at every base?

I have yet to encounter them but they do exist.

Are you at tinker? Have we met? Lol but all I can say is yes. I have encountered some like this.

Everywhere I lived was like that, drama and gossip all the time!!

In my experience a lot of the women are gossipy back stabbing bitches so I try to stay away from most of them

I am at Tinker and who knows lol I just hate that the women here are so catty...I mean hell maybe its me but lord it feels like its a sorority. Do you live on base?

Its the same way for me as well. I have made one friend(who I also met on BG) who is normal. The problem here isn't bitchy women... its swingers.   And then gossip ensues.
I think that is the majority everywhere. Not every spouse but every base is usually like that from what I've encountered. (Catty women and gossipers I mean).

I think any group of women who socialize on a daily basis can be like that.

And then when they have the added "bonding" of their husband's profession...deployment..being away from family the jealousies of watching someone else's husband get promoted ...or of your husband being deployed while someone else is coming home...it's all a lot of stress that sometimes SOME women relieve by ...well. Reverting to a primitive feline nature.

I don't befriend military wives usually for this reason.

Ya, of course. There are women like that at every military installation...as there are women like that in every neighborhood, in every State. Luckily, they are easy to spot and even easier to avoid.

To those of you who just backed up what I was saying....

FREAKING AWESOME lol I cannot WAIT until my husband gets out ugh lol I don't even try to make friends with them because I have yet to meet a normal person lol

Let's just say, a lot of the ones I've met here are crazy as hell. I have a few friends that are normal though, but I met them on here. But I've told my husband that I'm so glad he's done! I don't live on base, I try to stay away as much as I can. Lol

It is gonna be like that (or at least have people like that) anywhere you go, military or not.

If you want my honest opinion, by posting this you are buying into the same. If you think you're better than that, then you have to actually BE better. Which means some things are better left unsaid.

I'm not saying anything about you personally; giving you the benefit of the doubt, I'm sure you're great.   Just that it's not necessary to state the obvious. Women like this exist in all walks of life--trust me.
