Eating Issues.... ??

posted 7th May
Ok so im hoping you guys can help me out.. i dont know if im the only one going through this... but im hoping not

I never wanna eat.... i dont know if its because of my hyperemesis and the amount of throwing up i have done throughout the entire pregnancy... or if its because of how big my belly is... But i always FEEL like i just finished eating. Im always full... i was under the impression that preggys couldnt stop eating and just wanted to snack all hours of the day... but i can completely forget about eating... and i SOOOO know thats not ok (plus i usually LOVE FOOD). So of course i have to force myself to eat, in which case it all comes back out anyways. I dont know what to do. I dont know if this happens to anyone else. Im 25 weeks, and i have been like this my whole preg. I never feel hungry, i always feel full. And now with the heart burn on top of the hyperemesis i am just throwin up way to much.
Has anyone else been going through this???? And if so, while you are dealing with this, how do you get yourself to eat and hold it down   ? My daughter is still growing just great, but i feel weaker and weaker everyday because she is taking everything outta me and i dont have much left

HELP....

p.s. i was already given all the med for my hyperemesis (i.e. zophran, anzemet, reglan, phenegran, compazine) and non of them worked   so i was getting iv fluids every two weeks...

sounds like me, I think since we're prego it makes our digestive system more slower. So I have bad indegetion, I often do not want to eat because nothing sounds good/feel full as well..

I feel full all the time too. I'm only nine weeks, and sometimes I have to drink cokes to settle my tummy. I know that isn't the greatest for the baby, but I figure it is better that I do that so I can eat rather than not eating at all.

I've recently just started feeling like that.. maybe around my 30th week my appetite just dissappeared.. I used to eat all day everyday and now I'll eat when i wake up and my mom pretty much has to force feed me for the rest of the day and then I usually get sick   but I asked my doc and he said that its fine at this point as long as I force myself to eat and keep hydrated.. its not fun but you gotta do it for baby

I actually asked my dr about this when I saw him yesterday and he said it is because the stomach doesn't have as much room to expand with all the baby in the way! He said that it is completely normal and that I shouldn't force myself to eat unless I get to the point where I'm feeling faint and/or weak from not eating.

I'm sorry your going thru this.. Boy can I relate.. I have had hyperemisis with each pregnancy now!!! With my first it went away at 6 months along, with my second it NEVER did   And with this one well 20+ weeks and it's still going.... I have found that there are some things that help me... For one I cannot even try to eat a bite until about 2-3 hours after i wake up.. I know it sounds horrible but it will come up anyways so why do that to myself! My OB agrees... Other than that I never eat anything greasy, fried, or too sweet... I eat like a few bites at a time.. Literally... I will eat like a handful of dry cereal after 2-3 hrs of being awake.. Then later maybe like 2-3 strawberries.. You get the point.. I still throw up most stuff.. But I think i digest more this way too... I hope you can get the handle eventually on what will help you.. I didn't get my last pregnancy sickness figured out until like my 7th month... Anyways I feel your pain and I hope that it gets a little more manageable for you... the sooner the better..

I am not sure if I had hyperemesis I probably did, I went a good two whole days in my first trimester withouth ingesting anything! I tried to drink water, but would puke that up too. I probably should have gone to the ER since I was passed out for two days, I was probably dehydrated, but I had no way to get there, and I was too out of it to care. or even realize. now I eat more, but still not as much as I used to. That has been biggest ailment this entire pregnancy, my digestive issues! I was sick all day, every day in my first trimester and the morning sickness lingered well into my third trimester. And before pregnancy I LOVED to eat, my sister would call me the bottomless pit because I could eat so much but never gained a pound, but once I got pregnant food became an enemy. I was really worried that my daughter was going to be underweight but at my checkups and ultrasounds she is measuring just fine! I am not too worried about it anymore, but it has been a horrible experience!

But i usually dont eat till like 2pm cause i feel sick, unless im with my mom and she makes me eat as soon as i get up, which makes me throw up   UGH... i dont wanna think my next pregnancy is going to be this bad!

so many people told me to force feed myself and even if I threw up after every meal to keep eating. But to me that was torture and I know that vomiting constantly is no good for the stomach, esophagus, or the mouth and teeth, and can cause further dehydration so I ignored these people and just listened to my body. I took in as many fluids as possible but never forced myself to eat, and I am doing fine!
