Steaks?

How long do steaks keep in the fridge? I bought some steaks on Thursday evening, with the intention of cooking them tonight.... But SO has food poisoning and we have to pospone the steaks to tomorrow night... They should still be good tomorrow, right?

I've had meat thawed/kept in the frig with the intention of cooking one day and not get around to it until the next, for whatever reason, with no problems.

I'd also check the date on the steak. It should have one.

I'd also go by how it looks/smells when you go to cook it. I wouldn't see one more day really making a difference.

The sell by date is tomorrow. I bought them at the meat counter at tthe smurf plus, so they are in brown paper, not the plastic wrap, if that matters.

I've actually never gotten meat that wasn't packaged with some sort of plastic wrap so I'm not sure if that could change things.

I'd feel comfortable cooking it though if the sell date is tomorrow.

Seems there's always some time after sell by date before whatever food item actually goes bad.

usually we buy steaks the day we plan to cook them, cause we always decide last minute. lol.

If it doesn't smell then it should be good

Lol. I buy and they go straight in my freezer until I decide to have steak. I rarely buy anything on the day I plan to prepare that meal. I might run to the store if I'm rlt in the mood for something one day.

Now I kinda want steak.…
