HELP!

posted 16th Jun '12
Im almost 6 months n showing alot ive been through 3 jobs already, first two didnt like the fact tht i was pregnant and the interviews i been on only look at my belly like i have some sort of disease or something now this one claims that i wasnt right for the position after i got hired due to my "background" wich didnt seeem to be a problem in the begining and idk what to do im trying and trying and my man is getting more n more pissed at me because im not working he thinks its all a piece of cake n there should be no issues once so ever. its making things ten times harder and making my stress levels rocket. while im not working im trying to make as much money as i can saving up cans for scrap, babysitting a 2 and 6 yr old thats just to keep a roof over my head i live with my man n his cousin i babysit n help her for letting me live here she gives me what she can but i can not ask for anything because she is helping me a great deal. im almost out of options and feel like giving up completly no one wants to hire a 6mo along pregnant woman and i dont think he feels like he shoud be supporting me. i want to help financially but idk what else i can do im still trying to gain employment but it seems like once they see my belly they just dont want to hire me if im going to be leaving to give birth. any suggestions????

Try telemarkting and fast food.

I got hired at 5/6 months, obviously pregnant. It was a good 20-50 hours a week depending on the available hours, plus I could pee/snack when I needed and it was a seated position.

I graduated college and I can't even get hired where I am pregnant. They said if I don't tell them I am it is considered withholding information.. which equals automatic termination when they find out I am. Now my doctor has me on restrictions.. I will never get a job. Grrr!

I had that problem when I was pregnant. Nobody wanted to hire me, and I eventually gave up. I was 18, stupid, and basically living off my parents. Granted I didn't do much that required money, but that's not the point. Ya know?

Biggest regret ever.

That's really sucks

I got laid off for being pregnant... Granted, it was understandable in the situation, but it still sucked. I'm just now reapplying for a ton of positions and hoping I can find one that is willing to work around my classes in the fall...

I filled out 40 applications. I got called in for interviews all over the state. No one hired me. I am so frustrated. We could really use the money. I just started watching some friend's kids. The little bit helps, but it is not what I went to college for.. you know? I worked hard to get my degree and now I can't even get a job!!

Try a call center.
I worked at one and they didn't mind pregnancies because, since it's a sitting position, you can do it riight up until you pop the baby.

And I've seen a lot of obviously pregnant women in training and whatnot.

Don't give up! Good luck.

I think you have a chance at getting hired, even if it's just part-time. That's all I'm working right now and I just got hired about a month and a half ago at Victoria's Secret. I told them up front that I was expecting...plus, it was pretty obvious with my belly! Keep looking and filling out apps! I'm sure you will find something somewhere   Chin up!

I worked telemarketing. I started out making 9 bucks an hour and with my sales I ended up making 16.91 a hour. My daughter has facial surgeries from a pit bull attack, and they fired me for missed time. Even though I made good sales and gave a letter a month in advance informing them I would be gone a week. They like you to make up missed time, I understand that, but my daughter surgeries run when they can get her in. They don't like to give time off.
