Doing P90X, who's with me?

posted 16th Jun '12
I'm starting P90X today, and feeling a lot of dread but excitement. Anyone who's done it/doing it that can offer any words of wisdome to those of us who are starting?

I'll review the workout later today when I've done it (starting it i 40min!) if someone's curious of a non-fit girl's initial thought of it, lol.

I'm thinking of doing it, but I want to be in better shape before I start. Still doing those 100 pushups lol. Good luck, you'll need it.

I plan on starting as soon as I'm physically able after having my lil man (which should be any day now!)

Same here. I'll probably start 1st/2nd week of July. This will be my 3rd time doing P90x!.

Wow, ha that's good.

I just finished. I couldn't do the pull-ups, so I missed a big part of it, but it was a good exercise anyway. I am in kinda poor shape, so I did push-ups on my knees, but even then it was tough. Next week I'll try to push harder, because I didn't find it as hard as I expected it to be (but that might be because of the lack of pull-ups).

Tomorrow it's plyometrics! Hopefully my knees and hips won't hate that xD

Just one question, what's better and what's the difference between lean and classic?

I think lean builds lean muscle, and classic is more bulky muscle. Unless you want to look more like a body builder, I'd go with lean.

hum, okay. Though, women tend to not be able to look like body-builders, but I'm looking to be lean rather than muscle-y (heh), so I'll do that instead. Thanks!

Yeah the first time I did it I didn't have a pull up bar, but I was doing doubles so it was still really hard. The second time I used a pull up bar and it makes a HUGE difference in not only how hard the workout is, but also in the strength that you build from doing them since pull ups use so much of your core and like every muscle on your body!

Also, I did the classic and was by no means bulky, even though I often did 8-10 reps of heavier weights (doing 12-15 reps with lower weights builds lean muscle). I don't think you will get bulky unless you are already like super super fit. But if you have any weight/body fat to lose I don't think it is likely you will look like a body builder at the end of the 90 days esp. doing 12-15 reps.
