nope you can do bucually or vaginally, they work better vaginally IMO, i worked for an abortion clinic for a year, as well as had one myself.

but i just felt them and they are smashed but still pretty thick....moving them to vagina would probably be messy. i'm gonna call them back and ask if i can just spit them out. you think that would be ok?

i wouldnt, id keep them there till they dissolve or if theyre hard enough try it vaginally. i always told people to go to sleep for this very reason.

make sure you take your pain meds now, and not when you start to feel pain if they didnt tell you already

okay. yeah i took a pain pill and nausea pill before i did these. i think they're too soft to try vaginally but still not all that close to being dissolved. i guess i'll just leave them in....so it's okay to leave them longer than 45 minutes? they didn't advise the sleep or i would have. what about the light-headedness?

are you having light headedness or asking about it as a symptom? some people feel very dizzy, but its usually a combination of things (the meds plus the pain plus anxiety), and unfortunatly theres not really anything you can do for it. i thankfully had a pretty straight forward abortion, no real side effects to say of. i dont think light headedness is actually a side effect OF the cytotec. i know alot of people say they are dizzy tho

try and relax, lay down with a heating pad and watch a movie. put a extra large pad on.

when the pain starts it helps ALOT to sit on the toilet.

yes i'm having some light-headedness. it is probably a combo of all the meds like you said. it's been over an hour now, should i spit them out or leave them in? like i said they're too smashed to put in the vagina. i feel fine not much cramping or nausea...i actually want to eat some pizza but i'm afraid i'll puke it up later. but like i said in the original post, i passed a big clot before i even started the cytotec.

oh yeah. and when the pain does start, can i take advil in combination with the lortab? (i've already taken the hydrocodone but can i take some advil until it's time to take another lortab?)

yep. id take 800mg of motrin/advil and alternate.

sitting on the toilet helps alot with the pain. hot showers too if you have someone to help you.

once the tissue passes, the cramps will lessen and it will start to feel more like a really bad period. try and rest ALOT for the next 2 days, take your pain pills accordingly and drink lots of fluids.

i cant say rest enough. rest rest rest. i went back to work 2 days after and felt about 75% normal by then. i was 6w5d

okay. i was about 6 weeks too. like i said i passed a big clot right before i even started the cytotec. i hurt in my back for minute. im thinking this might not be so painful for me! (let's hope!) hahah..

yeah the cytotec makes the uterus contract to expell all the tissue and lining. the first medicine stops the growth of the fetus by blocking the hormone that allows a pregnancy to continue.

better safe than sorry, you dont want to have tissue left in your uterus, thats why the cytotec is used.

you should notice too that your pregnancy symptoms go away within about 2 days, thats a good indicator that it worked

yeah i know. but do you think it's strange that i began passing it without the cytotec?

Drink a little bit of water... don't swallow the pills but just get your mouth wet. When that happened to me it was pretty much my mouth not wanting to produce enough moisture. So they said a quick swig of water would get my glands working again and I could get some fluid going.

As for the cramps... hmmm I'd say within a couple hours I was having some pain. I had two abortions with this method and the first one was kind of hellish with the cramps, and lasted a long time (like 3-4 days of feeling absolutely smurfing SmurffY). The second time I actually felt pretty okay after about 12 hours of intense cramping.. I still hurt a lot but nothing as bad as they were.

My advice... double up on the pads. I have to anyways because my periods are funky but you do bleed a lot and they are big clots. So what I'd do is get the overnight pads and line them up where one pad reaches almost the top of your undies, then the second pad doubles up near the end and goes up your butt a little. Because believe me, you do not bleed normal and you want the extra absorbancy. Wear tighter underwear to kind of keep the pads close to you to avoid leaks. And heating pads! It helps a LOT. Use a cold pack for your head if you want (I had hot flashes). But I really think the first 12-24 hours of bleeding are the worst. After that it just gets to be an annoying period.
