Breastfeeding or bottle feeding?

posted 14th Jun '12
Both are great, which one do you prefer? I'm still iffy about breastfeeding.

breastfeeding all the way. I consider it a privilage. So many moms wish they could and struggle.

This might sound weird, but my midwife told me it could give you an orgasm.. And after she told me that I've been pushing it away.   it just made me uncomfortable.

Breast feeding. If you can, you should, it gives so much immunities to baby & helps you shed the baby weight. Not everyone can, but I loved it. I was iffy until I tried & then it worked so well. Still nursing at 13 months & 8 weeks preggo

I heard the first 6 months are important to breastfeed. But I have to go to school, and I'm gonna be a single parent with not much help. Could I switch him to regular formula after 6 months?

I breastfed my son and absolutely hated it but most women enjoy it. I still plan on breastfeeding my daughter since breastmilk is better for babies and I'd definetly suggest that you give it a shot   It's not going to hurt anything to try.

I agree. While bottle feeding works for us, I wish I could have BFed longer. I was hospitalized for 2 weeks and was on heavy antibiotics that were not safe for my LO. We were both naturals at it, and I loved it.
Though what matters most, IMO, is that the child is being fed.

no, I know what she means I guess. Like breastfeeding immediatly after birth, it contracts your uterus and helps it shrink back down to its original size. I could actually feel it. When you breastfeed it does release alot of oxytocin, that lovey sort of feeling, and once you get the hang of things, its pleasurable but its not in the sense that it feels sexual. Our body's are dsigned to feel those hormones so if wont be this confusing, sexual, innappropriate thing. Its nature bonding the two of you, you know?
The chances of you having an orgasm while breastfeeding are so unlikely. Ive never heard of it, its never happened to me and I EBF'd for 10 months.

you could but there are so many health benefits if you keep going. If you got a pump you could switch him to bottles of BM during the day and then nurse when you get home and before bed   http://ecochildsplay.com/2008/08/05/mothers-milk-breastfeeding-beyond-six-months/

Just take it day by day! Its a little hard at first but if you keep at it itis like the MOST rewarding thing. I cant wait to breastfeed again, when i weened my daughter i regretted it.

BF! I ff my daughter after 6 weeks, thsi time around i stuck to it.. REMEMBER BREAST is FREEEEEEee. Seriously, and you don't have to do bottles, wash bottles, and YOU LOSE A Smurf ton weight. I am 5 8' and was stuck at `165 after my daughter, and when i was in highschool i never could get lower then 150.... I am 71/2 months pp and i weigh 129 lbs! No special diet and i only walk a few times a week.

If for no other reason do it for how easy it is... a few rough weeks (which for me it was just so natural my nipples weren't even that sore) Pays off in the long run, going to get formula, and all that.
