Messed up circumcision

My step son is soon to be 6. His mom is not really in the picture. When he was born they messed up his circumcision. So it still look like half uncircumcised. We have an appt today to get it looked at by our family doc. My question is should we wait til he is older or get it done asap? I think we should do it now!

DEFINITELY DO IT NOW-THE LONGER YOU WAIT THE HARDER IT IS!

Asap. My husband's father was uncircumcized until he was 12yrs old and the longer you wait, the more painful the process is and its just not healthy ... my FIL still gets infections and he is 46 now. So there are long term effects of waiting too long..

My medical wont cover it for my son. and the hospital wants to charge me $ 487.98 plus tax for getting it done. So i dunno what i am going to do...that's a lot of money.

how can you tell if your insurance will cover it or not?

They gave me a packate at my dr's office letting me know that my insurance didn't cover it anymore. it's sad.. but you can ask your Dr. to find out for you and they will let you know.

Wow, that is a lot! I'm on Medicaid and they stopped covering circumcisions a few years ago (I don't know how long, but my cousin's son is 7 and they paid for his when he was born)... but my midwife told me it was $160 and had to be paid ahead of time and they give you a reciept to take to the hospital when he's born... so mine's already paid.
But then, one of my friends knows someone that's having twins (girls) and they told her that if it was boys, the circumcisions would be $600. I don't get how I paid $160 and for twin boys, it would be $600.. I mean, she's going to a different hospital, but that's still quite a difference!
