1st u/s today!!

  So today is finally my first u/s, and since I'm 20 weeks I should be able to find out what we're having. I'm so excited. I want to make sure that "lil sprout" is cooperative, spread eagle and all! hehe I'm normally a 1 coffee in the morning person, and I'm drinking my cup right now. My appointment isn't until 5pm, any suggestions on making sure sprout is active during the u/s. I havn't felt any movement so far, so I'm not sure what make the kid go. Thanks in advance for any advice! 

Drink cold orange juice - they'll have it at the office for you if baby isn't active they'll have you drink some there anyhow .
Plus they have a buzzing machine that they poke at the baby with ;)

These are the things that I heard about before my U/S and I did all of them just to be sure. lol
1 drink OJ
2 drink a soda
3 spicy food
4 full bladder

I had a hot chocolate and a sprite right before I went and my little guy wouldn't sit still!

They poke at the baby......lol that just sounds wrong, but funny all at the same time. Thats probably why sprout doesn't move to much,I like to poke my belly,it's like "Bitch I ain't moving till you quit pokin me!" I like to do comentary for my baby. It's wierd I know but it keeps me entertained. lol

If he moves around TOO much then it could be hard to see anything. Keep that in mind! My last u/s he wouldn't sit still so it was hard so get a good picture...but thank god we saw his little wanker already around 21 wks..

I had jelly beans. I'm not usually a big sweets person so, I guess, the extra sugar had him bouncing off the walls, so to speak... it definitely worked though.

Thats so funny my husband does the same thing...He will carry on a conversation with the baby and its so hilarious...He sounds completly insane but its sweet in its own way.

I wish my hubby would talk to it more. He says he feels wierd about it. I just thinks he gets shy if front of me, and doesn't want to sound stupid. I really want it to know daddies voice. I hope he comes around, this u/s appointment will be the first time he gets to hear the heartbeat too. Normally he's working and its a new job so he can't get away. He's so jealous when I come home and i heard the hrtbt and I tell him how strong and how many bpm it was. So he is really excited about this evening.

I think i eat too much sugar! I ate 3/4 a Snickers bar and a slurpee, and my girl was just chillin and napping during my 2nd 3d/4d at 30 weeks! lol! Good luck! they're so fun  

ice cream makes my kid move a lot. i will feel him poking around. but wow ur 20weeks and havent got one yet! i was 10 week my 1st so i didnt see much and they had to tell nick and i were the head was and feet once we got it though it was cool. i only had tomatos with lots of salt on them for that cuz i was still with morning sickness. but the baby was waving its arms and jumping around. it was amazing! good luck on finding out the sex! what are you hoping for?

I really don't care, but for some reason, I just want a girl. Boys are sweet and wonderful( i love my 2 yr old nephew) but I don't know if it's like an intuition thing or just a strong desire for a little girl. I guess we'll know tonight!! When do you find out?

May 21 or 22nd..not sure yet if my 1st OB appt. they will do one or not so if not the 22nd. im hope boy but im starting to think girl.
