Currently unemployed. School is paid for through the end of the month. It's more like play school now that it's summer, my 5yo just graduated preschool & is starting K in Aug. My 3yo hasn't been moved to the 3yo preschool room. I've been keeping them home a bunch. I am trying to enjoy this summer as much as possible with them

I have worked their whole lives. This is finally my time to enjoy them. I hated having to work all the time.

My oldest starting K is going to be a whole new ballgame for us. He will have to go everyday, even if I have the day off.

They are growing up so fast & even though they won't remember much of this summer I will.

oh that makes sense

but here, if it is a program run by the school district, you cannot just take the day off. If you do that enough, CPS will be called.

Hes not in the school district yet. When he starts K in aug he will be going unless he is sick, they have lots of half days & days off though.

I have the in a daycare center closer to where I worked. When my oldest started they transported to his school, now they don't. They are both starting new schools soon. I wanted to make sure my oldest could graduate with his class, he did that Sunday. Now we are finishing out the month, since it's paid for, unless they want to stay home. My oldest would go almost everyday, the younger one would stay home. ;)

Choices are very important to teach children at a young age.
My now 10 yr old does bowling and has since she was 5 and she was also in brownies.
She really wanted to go away at 5 to brownie camp for the first time EVER. and was super excited about it for a month. Well it turned out that her bowling team ended up having a big tournament the same weekend cause they placed 2nd in the first 1. Anyways I left the decision up to her on what she decided to do.
But I also explained to her first that if she did not go to bowling that her team could not play in the finals (all team members had to be there) or they had to forfeit (srry not sure how to spell it) lol anyways she was so sad she wanted to do both, but it was not an option and at 5 she picked the right decision and went bowling. I was so proud of her for doing that.
It was up to her, if she chose camp well I would have let her go, she needed to realize the importance of chosing the right one and would have had to deal with what would have happened.
In the end her team came in 1st place and her highest score was in that game it was a 199. and she was so proud and glad she went in the end.
But this is why explaining and choices are very important to teach are children. Its a major process in life. And sometimes you need to let them make the wrong choice in order for them to really understand why its important to chose wisely. As long as its not harmful to them or anyone else. There are always boundries lol srry its long lol
