Pressure...."down there" possible TMI

posted 14th Jun '12
I'm at 27 weeks today with baby number 2 and for the past few days every time the baby moves it feels like she's actually kicking me 'down there'. The muscles tense and it just feels like the pressure you have right before you start pushing, just less severe. I'm not sure if i'm making any sense, because I know it sounds crazy. Is it normal to feel a little bit of pressure in that area when the baby kicks and moves? With my first baby I didn't feel it.

The same thing has been happening to me and it didn't with my first two, started around 27-28 weeks and now I'm 35. I thought I might have been leaking fluid at 31 weeks so I went to the hospital and asked them about the pressure while I was there. They checked my cervix and while doing so the nurse got this shocked look on her face and said my baby boy was extremely low. So it could be that your baby is already moving into position for birth like mine did. He hasn't done anything but try to go lower than he is, I keep telling him to move up or move out because it's so uncomfortable.

I have an appointment the 26th. I thought I was leaking fluid and called them and mentioned the pressure and they told me unless I feel like I peed my pants not to come in until my set appointment because it was probably just the way the baby was positioned. I still feel the pressure and have low back pain and have been cramping all day and I'm still told to wait until my appointment and try to drink more water.
