Here comes the bride fair fat and wide :)

posted 7th May
Morning!
Has anyone here had their wedding while being visibly preggo? As in, were you showing alot and if so, did you wear a maternity wedding gown or just a regular one in a larger size? I ask b/c my husband and were married at the courthouse last week but our actual wedding is in August. I'll be well into my 5'th month by then. I'm not sure how to go about purchasing a gown which has to be done a few months ahead of time obviously. How do I size it and anticipate how big I'll be by then?? Thannnnnnks for any insight girls!

i got married when i was 20 weeks (pics in mt albums)

if you go to like davids bridal they have pillows that you can wear for your belly so that you can see about where you should be and what you will be fitting then.

i just wore a normal dress, not maternity. and since this is your first pregnancy, like that was, you probably wont show much for a bit.

I was not pregnant when I got married but I was a size 3 before I got pregnant and fit comfortably in a size 5 when I was 20 weeks (5 months) pregnant. This is what I looked like:

Not TOO big but it all depends on your body and how you show (high or low.)

oooooh good idea! I ddnt know Davids offered the pillow baby option. My only concern about showing is that I was 95 lbs before I got pg and am only 8.5 weeks in and am showing. It's all uterus right now...so weird to finally have a body that does not resemble a 12 year old's! If I ate a chicken nugget, my belly would show lol. So I have a feeling by 5 months I'll be all belly. But thanks for the advice guys...<3

I got married at 14 weeks and my dress was SUPER tight. But then again I didnt know I was pregnant when I ordered it. Try to find a dress that has an empire waist becuase its cut right below the boobs instead of around the waist. I think they are beautiful and you will be so much more comfortable on your wedding day. I just remember feeling like I couldnt breathe all day in my dress.

I was atleast 18 weeks when I got married, I wasnt showing much but I wasnt as small as you are even though I had lost about 20 pounds in teh begginning and I was just getting to where you could see a little baby belly there. But I was able to wear a normal wedding gown in the same size I had been wearing. Good luck and congrats

Check out this site for some pretty designs! They're kind of expensive ($500+) but it does have some nice ideas of styles to look for.

I got married last week   at 23 weeks...I had my dress bought about 2 months before hand. I got an empire line dress so I knew I'd have lots of space for baby bump! And honestly in my wedding pictures you wouldn't even notice I was pregnant at all. That's whats so great about empire line. My non-prego friends compain because they look pregnant in them, but it's great for us!
I also suggest getting a breathable fabric. My dress was vintage lace which was great as it didn't crease and I felt so comfortable in it rather than wearing a tight fitting gown. And I was realli happy with the way I looked (so was my husband!) ask me for pics if you wanna see them

Def, I'd love to see pics! The more I hear you guys say it, the more I think the empire waist is the way to go. The dresses I was trying on a few months back were lovely but were def too tight in the bodice as you can see below

But they do have some awesome styles especially for a late summer shindig. Thanks again!

I got married when I was 4 months (1 5 weeks), I wasn't showing to much but I ordered my dress before I was pregnant and it was too small by my 3rd month. Thankfully I still had time to order a new size. Mine was custom made so I just ordered it a few inches bigger in the waist and about two inches in the breasts. Amazingly my guesses were accurate and it fit perfect on the wedding day.
My belly was underneath the petticoat so no one could tell I was pregnant. There are a few pictures from the reception were it is questionable but only if you knew.
My dress measurements for before I was pregnant were
33, 24, 35
and my final dress was
35, 27 1/2, 37

my pictures are in the album
Good luck.
You probably won't be too big, so if you find the right dress it will conceal it, if that is what you are going for.

We got married when I was 6 months pregnant. I ordered an actual maternity gown on-line. Mine actually fit kinda snugly. It wasn't the prettiest, but it surved it's purpose.
