autistism?

posted 13th Jun '12
Is 4 months old too young to dertermine if a baby is autistic? My friends baby is 4 months old and he isn't able to hold his head up yet. The drs told her he may be autistic but they need to do more tests. she's freaking out

I should think 4 months is too young and besides that..i have never heard that not holding their head up is indicative of Autism....

Right, I would be concerned it was cerebral palsy or something of that sort. I wouldn't be worried about it being autism smh.

No no no no

There has to be something more to it for him to have said that first of all... But at 4 months old they would be checking a lot of other things before anybody even considered Autism at all, you can't even determine ridigity or interests, speech, speech or communication, and if they were worried about eye contact they would have to determine eye sight, hearing, Bleh so many other things
