You can't burn your fat calories if your body doesn't have any fuel to keep the engine running ya know? If you don't want to see those calories added on then don't work out, and you still can lose weight. If you want to burn more fat calories each day, then workout, and eat your added calories. I am a Jillian Michael's super fan, and in her book "Winning by Losing" she actually suggests eating a different amount of calories every day to keep your body guessing and working at maximum capacity for processing food and burning fat calories. I wish you could tell MFP how many calories you want to burn each day, and that total would still equal your desired defecit, KWIM?

Like the others have said, it's important to eat back the calories you're burning. It may not make sense yet, but when you're upping your exercise and feeling exhausted, you'll understand. If you get days where you just can't eat the calories back that you've burned, it's not the most horrible thing in the world, but you should definitely reach 1200 everyday.

I've been counting my calories for the past 2 days & haven't even reached 1200   That's not counting the added calories I "should" be eating that I burned while exercising.....

Are you trying not to? Or do you have a hard time? You can add a shake (special k) or find snacks high in calories. Nuts, avacado, peanutbutter with fruit.

I add these, especially on the days I am working out...

There are two flavors that I like, and they're 100 and 110 calories. 17 grams of protein.

I don't like to talk about it (or even admit it).. but I've always had a hard time eating

I always thought I was eating SO MUCH more than I should, until I counted my calories & saw how little I really was eating.

I understand. I'm recovering from an ED. But you NEED to eat those calories. I can tell you from experience, that if you don't get what you need, you won't lose, and even gain.

I know sometimes it's hard to eat, which is why the shakes the other girl recommended are great. You can drink your calories.

I know. But your body needs the fuel. And if you don't eat enough, and gain, you'll feel discouraged. I just don't want to see youndo anything unhealthy. It's such a horrible road to go down.

Trust me... I'm a heck of a lot bigger than you and the shakes haven't made me gain any weight. I've been using them since about 2006 on and off. I've lost 77 lbs in total.
